This sums up exactly why the show has taken a terrible turn to the worse the last couple of seasons. It's all about LCD's predicting who is going to die and wishing for cliched mano y mano revenge confrontations, and the producers are feeding into that nonsense.
ASOIAF/GOT was always about breaking traditional tropes and bringing a sense of natural progression to the story, whereas the show has changed that and become a platform of formulaic plotting and fan service.

Hound uses the Tarley Valyrian steel sword to pierce the Mountain's armor and removes head from undead body. He watches closely as Rhaegal burns the twice dead corpse finally overcoming his fear of fire.

The Hound and the Mountain will engage in a great fight where at different times, both men seem to be on the brink of death only to turn the tables and continue the fight. Just before it looks like the fight may end, they realize they that both have a mother named Martha and decide to be friends.

Option A:
Arya attempts to kill Cersie. The Mountain intercepts. *what I like about this occurrence is the similarity of fighting style between Arya and The Viper* He’s seemingly about to finish her, and then the Hound intercepts. Hound defeats the Mountain, but Cersie escapes so the Valonqar prophecy can still become true.
Option B:
Same set up with Arya attempting to kill the queen. The Hound is there so he engages the Mountain, possibly at the same time as fighting Arya. Arya is hurt/can’t continue the fight, so it’s Clegane Bowl mono e mono. (Stop!! My penis can only get so erect!) Mountain is killed and in some fashion the Hound does it using fire. His arc just seems like it should be completed with him overcoming his fear of fire. At least that’s what I think has been set up this whole time even up through the Battle of Winterfell.
Inevitable Conclusion: Mountain Dies. Cersie Lives.
