I've always been a kick off my shoes at the door type (my door, not other people's houses) and walk around my house bare foot. My floors are pretty clean and I'd like to keep them that way, but I'm not a freak about it.

It seems everyone else I know wears shoes in the house.

Are you a shoes, slippers, socks or bare feet at home type?

Only women should be allowed to show their feet.

I used to care. I pay a house cleaner for that now.

I have comfortable house shoes, wood floors can take the toll on feet after a while.

Yes and I agree it's strange.

No telling what I track in.

My SO is Asian, so strict no shoes rule. Our house isn’t a pig sty so I don’t see an issue with it.

No. I have a pair of flip flops I only wear in the house. Street shoes come off at the door.

I always did until I spent time in Japan. They are absolutely neurotic about not wearing shoes inside. After a while, I started giving thought to the absolutely disgusting surfaces I routinely walk on, and how I would never consider walking on them barefoot. Yet, I'll track that filth into my home and then walk over said filth barefoot without giving it a second thought.

It's one of those "once you see, you can't unsee" kind of things.

Now, I'm not insane about it, but I am cognizant of the fact that I'm still wearing shoes inside until the moment I take them off.

Once I am dressed, yes. All the way until night.

Specifically making a point to remove your shoes in one's house during the course of the day is just damn weird.

We clean our floors and there is not a reason to remove shoes, unless they are coming in muddy or covered in dog poop.

People who request people to remove shoes in their house have mental issues. OCD/germ freaks.

My family are dot Indians so anyone that enters any of our family’s homes are required to take off their shoes.

I kick my shoes off at home cause it is more comfortable.

But I don’t make people take their shoes off when they are inside my house.

I have some friends like that with signs posted at the door to let guests know to take their shoes off. Yet many of them have dogs with doggy door access to their back yards.

I typically don’t, but if I’m coming in from outside just to grab something inside and go back out, I’m not taking my shoes off for that. Otherwise, yes I take them off if I’m staying inside.

Never when I'm going to stay. I don't take them off if I'm about to leave again.

Yes, and I don’t go to people’s homes who expect you to take off your shoes, it’s weird.
