Has there been a thread on James Holzhauer, the professional gambler destroying Jeopardy?

Before he started his run, the single game record was $77k.

He is averaging just short of that and has several games above that including a record of $131K. This guy just added another 90K today with his opponents finishing with 1K and 2K.

He has a chance to hit a million on his 14th episode. For comparison, the all time record run is 2.5 million on 74 consecutive wins by Ken Jennings.

Very entertaining to watch.

Tin Foil Hat Man says Jeopardy is trying to maximize ratings while Alex Trebek is still alive.

Most of the contestants on there are smart. Mastering that buzzer is key imo.

Some are head and shoulders above the rest in the brains tho.

Is Jeopardy only on Netflix now? I assumed those were just archived shows but I don't see it on my local guide. Used to come on before Wheel of Fortune.

I am related to someone who was on Jeopardy. She said the same thing about the buzzer and the timer. You have to wait until the question is read fully before you answer, otherwise it locks you out.

Tin Foil Hat on Tin Foil Hat Man says Jeopardy is trying to make this guy's run last past the season break so that when Alex Trebek dies in between seasons, people will have a reason to tune in and watch the new scrub host.

I think there is some kind of agency that investigates game show fraud after the issues back in the day. Jeopardy is too high profile to try it.

He has changed the way people will bet in the future.

He tries to run up a lot of money at the start, then goes double jeopardy hunting. Then bets a lot.

Of course it helps if you have an encyclopedic memory.

He has a most unfortunate smile, but he's certainly killing it. Should keep a poker face after a win though.

I read on article that basically said the accounts are shitting bricks. I watched last Thursday and you could tell this girl next to him was so annoyed. It would suck to try to get on for years and then go against this guy.

I guess jeopardy needs to start recruiting some people to dethrone him.

Maybe offer Jennings a one day shot.

The network it’s on varies by city. In Chicago it was on ABC, in Memphis it’s on CBS etc. They have different contracts in different cities.

Knowing his pattern of wagering huge on the daily doubles they will eventually just make them unanswerable

Knowing my luck, the only time I would ever get on Jeopardy would be against a juggernaut like this guy.
