For the people that have been divorced; how long does it take before the constant anger and sadness goes away? I’m talking about the crushing anxiety and severe sadness? I understand that it will take a large amount of time to truly get over your wife (been together 15+ years) but more concerned about getting back to some normality. This shite is miserable.
No pics of ex wife
Not requesting spousal support and we are co-domicilary.
Doesn’t seem like a bad divorce, compared to what others have mentioned on this board, but I can’t get out of my own head and I’m really struggling with this. Any suggestions?

Guess it depends on who divorced who. I felt better as soon as she walked out the door.

Get a hobby.

Get a dog

Work and stack cash

Count your blessing, you don’t seem as though you had to give up half your stuff.

Date. Not necessarily for love but for companionship and sex.

I gotcha, what's your age range? Good y'all are co-parenting.

Even though it's tough, try to meet someone new...don't' have rush into something serious, but meeting someone new, get your mind off the past

I kept the house and most everything in it. No proof she cheated, but she’s giving me everything I want because she probably feels guilty.

Being blindsided has to suck.

You thought about going to counseling? Its gonna take time with or without one, but you’ll come out much better off with one.

yeah start a hobby, join some cheesy softball league, kickball, or go back to doing something you use to like to do when you had time for it. You'll feel better by summer

I went last week and plan to go back this week. It really only gets bad when I don’t have my daughter. The empty house and being alone is what drives it I think, but I just don’t feel like doing anything. It’s like all the joy has been sucked out. I’m generally a fun and happy person, but this is some awful shite.

If you have kids, do your best to never say a negative word about their mom. Save that for your friends and future SO

The kids will gravitate to her at first but will move more towards you as they age and realize the faults their mom possesses

This worked for me. I was divorced 19 years ago. Then when I was 32 I was banging 19-25 year olds. I ended up marrying one of the 19 year olds. We’ve been together for 13 years. She was 24 when we got married.

There could be many reasons why she’s giving you what you want....15 yrs is a long time to be with someone. She may respect you but fell out of love with you or does not need it which if that’s the case, I’m sorry leads me to believe there may already be someone else in her life.

Thanks everyone for letting me vent for a minute. Proof positive that the OT isn’t filled with a holes.
