Not firing Les in 2015. I am/was a Les fan but too much blood was in the water. He had to go and a 5 million contract buyout for Jimbo locked us back in to Les. Stupid! Stupid!

A year later Alleva would do it again. Not wanting to spend money, he went with a TJ Maxx coach choice.

For me it was how he handled the Florida hurricane debacle. Talked tough and made us look like assholes and then caved like a bitch, earning the enmity of the SEC office at the same time. I know it wasn’t the worst thing he did, but sure was embarrassing.
I cannot believe people think this.

Alleva began the firing process of Miles shortly AFTER giving him a raise, an extension, and a rather large buyout. That's what made 2015 such a cluster frick. Alleva didn't have the support of F. King because he just gave Miles and extension and a huge buyout.

I'm trying to be positive here, but I am hoping F. King is relieved we have a competent AD and he'll stay out of the athletic department.

When he stepped up to the podium at the presser to announce Miles was being fired, smiled then chuckled "Wow, full house here today".

I like O but Alleva is SOOO lucky that hire wasn’t a bigger disaster. I’m not saying O will win a natty but he certainly could be doing worse.

Alleva always seemed to be moving with the winds of public opinion or made decisions out of fear...since he has bad instincts in general he didn’t have the courage of his convictions...this made him look weak and incompetent and then his decisions bore that out.

Firing Les in-season means we should have had our new coach announced the day after bowl season ended...getting a jump on the field is the only reason you make that move...

Extending Fargas was inexcusable. I still think they were sleeping with each other.

O’s extension last year was unnecessary.

The comments after the Yale win, which were completely unprofessional.

The whole Canada debacle, and then allowing O to hire Ensminger even though E hadn’t coached a competitive offense since the Clinton administratio

Add the Les Miles 2015 debacle, and this is a pretty good start to the list.

Fighting out the Will Wade battle in the public eye was over the damn top.

Yep, has to be Miles in 2015. Could have sent off a winning coach the right way and segued right into replacing him with another championship-winning coach in Jimbo. Instead, look what we got.

I don't see the need to be "angry." My perception of him was that he exhibited a certain level of incompetence. But that's probably not totally fair. Certainly, he was/is a poor communicator; comes across defensive. His decision-making skills leave something to be desired. I think the the end of the 2015 football season (everyone, including Miles, thought he was being fired; Alleva and Alexander did not talk and therefore Alleva did not realize that political considerations would prevent paying Miles' buyout and paying Jimbo $7M/yr.) and the 2016 coaching "search", for me, really exhibited Joe's competency issues; however, it wasn't all his fault and he was dealing with some higher-up morons.

3. contracting with Aramark for concessions. These people are just straight garbage. The food quality has taken a nosedive, prices have gone up, and they consistently run out of basic items (water, buns, soda cups) before the first half of games and often before games even start.

2. Terrible crisis management pr skills leading to the perception of a reactionary, tone-deaf, spineless administration. You saw it with the handling of many issues such as compliance/ academic issues for various players, the Florida reschedule debacle, SEC bridge scheduling, LSU/A&M rivalry game scheduling, the firing of Les Miles, the bungling of the post-firing coaching search, and the whole Will Wade situation was just the final straw.

1. closing off campus with ever-increasing parking restrictions and conversion of free areas to paid lots

Joe appeared to take so many missteps that it hard to horn in on just one.

Having said that and since football is the dominant sport on campus, it has to be the way he used the football program like a yo-yo. Miles is out, Miles is in, and Miles is out all within five football games.

Whether it was all his doing or not, he carried the tag of director of LSU athletics.

The Florida hurricane debacle is top 5, because of the overall embarrassment.

My top 5 in no order is:
1.Wade
2.Trent Johnson
3.The stroll thru Tiger Stadium with Alexander prior to Miles announcement.
4."I won't get into a bidding war for a head coach"
and the Florida debacle
