But what in the world makes yall think he handled this situation the wrong way?

Preface - I DON'T like Alleva. I DO like Will Wade.

Alleva has been host of his share of shite-shows the past few years, but he got this one right.

Forget what WW's contract says, if WW was involved in paying players, there could be some serious sanctions fall on LSU.

THAT'S ON WILL WADE

Alleva didn't cause that. Alleva wasn't on the phone calls. Alleva had no choice but to suspend him (regardless of The Meeting). If later, it comes out to be true that WW committed NCAA violations, the NCAA will be softer on LSU since they suspended him.

If you're just looking for ways to shite on Alleva, fine, shite on him for hiring a coach that commits violations immediately after being hired - or is at least careless about it.

If the situation you want ("Alleva should've reinstated Wade") happened to any other school, you would be shitting on that school.

Let’s start with letting the NCAA participate at the last minute in the meeting that was originally scheduled with just WW, Alleva, and King.

There’s no proof that I’ve seen, just speculation. I can speculate anything. LSU has shown the willingness to kill its own program for the sake of optics, which tells you what spine the administration has, and who would want to work or represent that???

either joe was premature in his judgement and threw an innocent man to the wolves or he hired a coach that brought ncaa violations to the school. his public comments have not helped the situation either. he is emotionally unstable and has serious judgement issues.

It's amazing people are still stupid enough to not understand why suspending him never should have happened in the first place based on yahoo targeted attacks based on "leaks" from an on-going FB trial.

Have you heard the audio? Do you have it? If you do please post it because we haven’t heard and neither has LSU or yahoo sports. Only they have is a apparent partial transcript of a conversation that may or may not be wade. We cannot confirm because no one has heard it.

I have come to the sad realization that we have some dumbass fans. The ones that continue to rail against Will Wade while keeping their heads in the sand regarding the LSU Administration. Pure dumbasses.

Alleva handles everything wrong.

That’s the big problem.

Ok let's play it by your rules....
But listen to mine

What did LSU HAVE TO LOSE by letting Wade Still Coach...

The big thing here, is WADE Said YES to the initial meeting with JUST LSU.... They (admin) said NO, we want NCAA on the phone

Now here's my point
What did LSU have to LOSE
They have been in the BASEMENT for YEARSSSSSSS
BASEMENT... YOu know, downstairs, in a cardboard box, with DUST ON IT and NOBODY GAVE A SHITE about Basketball Since Shaq, and when they made their run with Tyrus (how long ago was that, OH WAIT... 12yrs ago)

We LEGITIMATELY had a TRUE SHOT at winning and winning deeper than the loss to MSU...
Had we allowed Coach Wade to coach, how much MORE SEVERE COULD ANY PENALTY BE from the NCAA on Basketball????
At this point, we'd be playing with House Money....

It could be another 12yrs (if Wade is fired) before LSU Basketball matters.... If Wade returns (which i now believe will happen) then LSU stands TALL and MATTERS FOR YEARS TO COME

WE HAD NOTHING TO LOSE be allowing WADE TO COACH!!!!

A strong arse offer could mean MANY THINGS....
But don't think (for one) that these kids aren't getting money or whatever (at EVERY COLLEGE) Zion Williams is going to fall as well

All i'm saying is EVEN IF THE NCAA Came down on LSU BBALL
What would it have mattered?

How many of you TRULY HAVE FOLLOWED LSU BASKETBALL before WADE's ARRIVAL.... it's been a long time

Alleva has been host of his share of shite-shows the past few years, but he got this one right.

Nope, the fact we are 38 days into basketball ambiguity is ALL on Alleva. You either fire the guy and move on or determine you don’t have the evidence and keep him. Alleva could have met and received the clarity he wanted prior to suspending WADE.

Alleva is in a catch 22. He hired the guy. So, if his third hire is a failure due to cheating, well, that’s three poor hires/judgements.

Alleva has either rushed to judgement on Wade w/o the evidence to fire him or He hired a cheater and 3rd basketball coach that has failed.

Sounds like an incompetent Athletic Director to me.

He broke the first rule of regulatory compliance. Talk to your own damn employee and scope the extent of a potential issue. Throwing open the doors to the NCAA was a misguided, naive attempt to virtue signal to the NCAA.

Will Wade is LSUs employee to deal with, not the NCAAs. If he broke rules or acknowledges he broke rules, fire his arse and deal with the consequences, but to just bring in the NCAA in an unfiltered setting is just plain stupid.

I can't believe people don't understand this. In fact, Wade wants to be suspended, but cannot act that way.

How many other schools, coaches, or players were implicated in the supposed scandal? Now how many of those other schools ordered their coaches to come to a meeting right before postseason play started to answer questions in front of people from the NCAA? LSU should have done like every other school and wait until after the season to deal with it, not torpedo their program's best season in 20 years right as the conference tournament was about to start.

If its discovered Wade cheated, he's fired. The NCAA drops sanctions on the basketball program. Players involved get declared ineligible. NCAA vacates all of LSU's wins from the season. Exact same penalties would have happened whether LSU handled it how they did or let Wade handle the court thing first before meeting with F King, Alleva and the NCAA.

If Wade ends up being cleared of any wrongdoing, now the administration completely ruined all the hard work that team did all year for absolutely no reason. And the incompetence of Alleva and Alexander will be used against LSU on the recruiting trail until both of them are gone.

Auburn is up to their neck in the college basketball corruption investigation, but they decided to let the investigation play out and let Bruce Pearl coach and it paid off. Win the SEC tourney. Get to the Final 4.
