being from the south, it seems like many southerners think the city and rural streets is their ashtray or garbage can.

and while i would never live in the pacific northwest, i have to say that the places i have visited, they at least appeared clean to the casual traveler. in baton rouge, this area (i10 by sigen (sp?) was horrific.

There’s a movement on reddit called #trashtag to get out there and clean. People take before and after pics of themselves doing it. Go pick up some stuff then post it on here and we’ll give you TD gold.

Ha! Reminds me of an article and interview written about Lou Holtz when he first took over the reigns at South Carolina. Paraphrasing… Lou commented .....South Carolinians must have some of the cleanest cars ( interior ) in the United Sates. All the trash is on the side of the road. The governor immediately enacted a roadside cleanup initiative.

Hopefully SG will do better.
EBR Parish does little or nothing to clean roadways, etc.

shows how selfish and trashy smokers who throw out the butts on the streets are. Not all will do that but according to what i see, it's too many to count. And they wonder why people think they represent a trashy part of our population.

The fact that you’re calling out only one section of one city in Louisiana for litter is fricking laughable.

It’s not a section. You could fill an auditorium with picture albums of litter on the ground from all over the entire greater BR region. Trouble is, people wouldn’t look. They just turn a blind eye to it all. Many don’t know what the big deal is. They’ve been brought up in it, and to them it’s just home.

That's what happens when you don't run bums out of town by firebombing their encampments.

There is a HUGE tent city in the woods on the north side of I-10 where Siegen connects to Bluebonnet. It is disgusting that this city lets them just set up shop there.

Highest incarceration rate = most eligible trash picker uppers

Unfortunately, that's not how it works here. We haven't figured out the whole free labor being free thing
