My opinion has been swayed for sure.
Posted on 4/12/19 at 9:18 am to Bedhog
the tacomas had some frame issues, not sure about the tundras.

I have a 2016 Tundra 5.7. I get about 15.4 mpg driving around Houston. I bought it bc I liked it’s looks and reputation for reliability. It has not disappointed but I’m not even going to try to argue it’s the best half-ton on the market. It’s probably the worst by every objective measure.

I have had 3 tundras and havent had any of these issues that im reading from the chevy and ford guys. This is like arguing politics or religion.
Buy whatever the frick you like and have a great day.
Sure Toyota has had vehicles with issues, just like ford, Chevy , dodge, nissan and EVERY other vehicle manufacturer.
Every truck nowadays pulls great and every truck is just about as reliable as you can get with a mass produced product.
I purchase toyotas because imo they look tbe best and the resale is great.
That doesn't mean its the greatest ever or your truck preference is shite. It just means i like it

asked for my mind to be changed. I wasn't comparing a gas burner for a diesel, was talking about the chassis, differentials, suspension and motor power. I will say I have been swayed by all of your contributions. I have been a part of many many frame swaps on trucks at body shops and the Tundra is the beefiest frames I've even changed out onna truck. The rear diff is also the largest ive ever changed out on a 1/2 ton
This is 100% true. Ive lifted every truck brand and model made. They toyota have the heaviest built frame and components made in any half ton and it isnt even close

Guess I should have just said this instead of giving my opinion of the tundras vs 3/4 tons. This is really what I was talking about.

Beefiest frame but worst crashtest. Makes sense

Opinions about trucks are just that. people believe what they believe.
Ford guys will always argue ford and chevy guys and so forth.
Buy whatever vehicle you think fits your want and need the best and who freaking cares what anyone else thinks

My opinion was stated on pulling a bay boat, a gooseneck 4v and having been a part of swapping frames.

There really isn't a bad truck and there isn't a best truck either. They all have their plus and minuses. Tundras have the highest resale, but they also give the smallest discounts upfront. I have a 2015 Ram, but will buy a new truck next year. The only one I know I won't buy is the Titan. I just don't like them.

Very well. And I save tons of $$ on tires since the front 2 barely touch pavement.
Posted on 4/13/19 at 9:47 am to Uncle JackD
Lol....I see very few Ridgelines on the road. Honda can't be selling many of them.

Nice truck except it sucks for gas milage, 12-15 mpg is what my neighbors 2015 gets. My Ram averages 20. MPG. And will run away form his.
Posted on 4/13/19 at 10:24 am to BIG Texan
Yeah a Tundra isn’t ever going to get 20mpg. And for all the power produced by its 5.7, it’s not a fast truck. Why is the Ram faster?
The Chevy 5.3 isn’t fast either.

I'm sure they could give bigger discounts if they inflated the MSRP like the big 3.

Most people don't recognize this.
