Beer is priced like they paid Other Half to come down and brew with them.
Didn't Other Half brew with about 5 breweries here that week?

Jeez, so basically double.
It's about on par with wine.

I know, I'm just saying there's a difference when they tell you that the beer costs $17 with a $5 mandatory donation vs when they just say it's flat $24 for the beer and beer alone. It's $17 vs $24 not $22 vs $24.
I hear ya. I was bitching at the time about the extra $5, but I still bought quite a bit of the DDH OJD. (I bought even more when it went on fire sale) It was very good.
I think their biggest issue with OJD was it being released right in between 2 DDH Ghost releases without much time in between.

I don't understand this.
Good beer is more available and accessible now than ever before. Why do people want that to change?

I can’t even read it without laughing out loud.
Meanwhile I’m sitting on my patio enjoying THE national beer of Texas, and I could not be more content.

Parish ran a $23 4 pack which included a $5 mandatory donation to something. I predicted they ran it as a test to see if they could sell their 4 packs at that price. It worked, and here we are
It was hysterical. I called it for what it was in some thread on here and got very little kick back, which is hard to do. They were making the customer contribute to a “donation fund” for hurricane victims while simultaneously throttling their margins.
I hand it to Andrew. He knows his customer base.
The biggest mistake he’s made IMO is appointing whoever it is that’s writing the descriptions currently. It’s the most ridiculous shite I’ve ever read.

There is also the fact that they pour your beer for you and then do the dishes for you after.
You typically are guilted into adding 12-20% to the price for that, though.

I don't hate parish and would probably buy a single to try them. I still can't help but feel the bubble has to burst soon. Specifically regarding haze, there are so many breweries putting out damn solid dipas at the $14-15 price point that asking $24 sounds kind of absurd. It just feels like the law of diminishing returns kicks in hard from $15 on. Would wager that the vast majority of craft beer drinkers wouldn't rate a $20-24 beer any higher than a good $15 beer in a blind tasting. Hell, some might not even be able to tell a difference between the citra, Galaxy, mosaic $15 beer and the new varietal $20-24. Personally I like keeping a stock of $10-11 dollar six-packs of daily drivers and getting an occasional $15 four pack for variety.

I said it before with the DDH Ghost release in 16 oz. cans, then I said it with the 2018 Maple Shade release — Parish prices are going higher than Trillium prices.
No comments on beer quality. No comments on whether that’s right or wrong. But Boston is pretty expensive. I’d say significantly more expensive than Broussard. Just something to think about.

Where’s a lobster roll in Broussard?
Idgaf about a lobster roll, tbh
When I was home in February I bought cracklins as soon as I left the hospital. They were terrible. But still delicious.

I still buy plenty of ghost at 11.99 per 4 pack. But I also buy a 6 pack of jucifer/hop on/holy roller for golf, day drinking or sessioning. $24/4 pack might’ve just priced me out. I bought a case of KBS for $18/4pack but those last the whole year and you don’t have to worry about sucking them down in a certain time frame.

120 IPA is the one that shocked me on price. I know it is probably pricey to make.
Love that the store is aging it for me.

This beer will be more at a bar since regular ghost goes 10-13 depending on where you are at
Ghost is $8.25 (or $8.50, I can't be certain, but it's less than $9) at my local bar.

There are too many other good, high abv beers, at $12-$15 a 6 pk for me to bother with Parish trying to gouge customers.

I just kinda think it's crazy that a bottle of beer costs more than the bourbon from the barrel it was aged in. I love my barrel aged beers, but I have my limits... and that is def over it.
Agree. You can go to the store and buy bottle of Scotch or Bourbon for $35.
