thats NOT universal basic income paid for by government, its royalty check for mineral rights just like a trust payment

Andrew Young has been a member of the Council on foreign relations you were born. Don’t be fooled by his BS.

A true UBI would result in a post-Apocalyptic Mad Max Social Darwinist world beyond even the wettest of an-cap/minarchist wet dreams.
When the government gives you $2500/month and you can't feed your kids because you spent it frivolously, what happens? There is no SNAP. There is no WIC. You're going to be begging for charity in the streets and eventually your family will starve and die.
There is a reason Neo-Nazis support UBI, and it isn't because they're liberal.
I was wrong, Yang's site notes that payment for the UBI would come not only from possible savings to welfare payments but from a 10% VAT. I may be wrong but a VAT is far closer to sales rather than income tax and thus would first require a Constitutional Amendment.
I did some quick math on the Yang's UBI and even before the VAT the cost would be outrageous. The economic costs of a 10% VAT would just be the final nail on our economic coffin.

Ugh. Yeah, let's put government in charge of our wealth because they never have issue with corruption and inefficiency.

Not universal basic income.
Strict residency requirements.
Only get one time payment in October.
Surprise surprise, Alaska government is spending too much and wants to keep taking half of it from Alaska residents

That's what Young is proposing for the countries natural resources in general

Yang has made some really silly mistakes. He equated the “freedom dividend” to corporations paying dividends. If Yang had the most basic understanding of corporate law he would realize just how insane that comparison is.

You realize that trickle up refers to having a minimal tax burden on middle class citizens right?

So 40k-120k per person? Good start. What does trickle up propose as tax rates for those in this spread? And those below? Those above?

It's a concept and I'll leave the specifics to the economists

Why aren’t economists ever filthy rich?
