...is running for president as a Democrat. He's on Stephanopoulos' "This Week" and is having an animated discussion with the host.

I never heard of him, but he has some compelling arguments as solutions for America. A universal basic income (as exists currently in Alaska), a move to pardon all persons convicted of nonviolent drug offences, and a "trickle up" economic policy.

Could the Andrew Yang campaign gain traction, and become a viable force in 2020?

He's already on the debate stage, I just want him to talk about white people and their political interests. That's the only value of his campaign.

He was also on Shapiro's latest podcast and was getting raked by proggies for agreeing to it. Haven't listened yet but the comments were positive as far as a legit interview goes. I still can't get over his unwillingness to explain how you afford to give every adult 1k a month. The only time I've seen him use any numbers in reference to the UBI was some bullshite about GDP. He claims to be a champion of math but his numbers don't work and he can't explain them.

I think he has a chance to get the nom because those who would be voting for him don't care about the details just the platitudes.

You think that communism is a compelling argument to fix our country? I love how you morons act like it’s some groundbreaking new idea every time it’s rebranded by a Bernie Sanders or Andrew Yang. You should ask Yang how many millions of people in his country of origin were killed by those same policies

Gonna be awfully hard for Alaska to maintain its UBI structure from its OIL PROFITS with the green new deal the dems also want to push.

Also hilarious how they use an example of a sparsely populated state running a highly profitable Co2 producing environment destroying business to provide for the people as it it would translate to a national level of success.

Alaska's "UBI" comes from the oil production going on up there (ie: people actually creating the wealth this comes from). Also, Alaska's Unemployment Rate is almost double that of the rest of to the US. LINK

These things are intimately linked so being for an Alaskan-style UBI would mean you must therefore be for more oil production as well as being okay with almost double the Unemployment Rate.

a move to pardon all persons convicted of nonviolent drug offences

Meh. Depends on the drug. If someone is arrested for a gram of pot, agreed. If someone is arrested for a gram of heroin, no. We are moving towards a legalized pot society so as that permeates more throughout the country we'll also see a drop in these sorts of arrests for pot.

and a "trickle up" economic policy.

The only thing that the bottom rung of the economics class has to trickle up is poverty.

Yang is a fricking moron, his stance on MMT proves that out. He's not just ignorant, he's dangerously ignorant because there are so many people who can't or won't look at the repercussions of such a policy in anything but the most rose-colored of glasses.

Well shite you are not supposed to put all their bullshite ideas together into some sort of coherent framework.

Coherence is racist!

Since you're virtually the reincarnation of Carnac the Magnificnet at predicting numbers, how many votes is Yang going to get?

Either it's a false promise just to get him elected or he's going to try to do it under his MMT fallacy (ie: QE, just print more Dollars since we're a fiat currency).
