If you read the descriptions, most aren’t “ridiculous” as electives. It’s not like you can get a degree in any of them.

ISDS 1001

And LSU had an English class called Sex and Violence in film. Supposedly it was pretty strenuous.

“Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame.” After becoming enthralled with the singer and artist after seeing her on television, sociology professor Mathieu Deflem devised the course, explaining to The New York Times, “The central objective is to unravel some of the sociologically relevant dimensions of the fame of Lady Gaga.”

This actually seems pretty interesting. She was a pretty average person and built a fan base that is almost cultish

If one could get a BA in this, it would be an excellent waste of $100,000

Pack and Paddle in Laffy taught this at one time. It was along the lines of using ropes and such to get up 100+ foot trees.

I took a “Weightlifting” class for extra credit hours. It was a glorified PE class; all I did (the times that I went) was walk into the basketball courts & play for an hour. My final (and the only class grade) consisted of questions like “what is a bench press?” Gotta love GPA boosters

This course will use the fiction and extensive musical repertoire of Jimmy Buffett as a focal point for studying world geography and the human interactions associated with it through the course of history.

This could actually be a legit class. Comedy has a real way distilling issues down to it's most naked form

I took an English 2000 class at LSU that was nothing but watching and analyzing horror films.

Our professor was a grad student who was working on a Dracula book, so our only actually work was submitting information pulled directly from IMDB to him on a weekly basis
