Prayers to all of the BC family and cancer victims everywhere. Bad thing for a person and their family to deal with.

It’s amazing how vile and disagreeable Leftists are in general. Reading this douche canoe’s comments just make you realize that we may be dealing with people who are just so broken spiritually and intellectually and to such a degree that their only coping strategy is vitriol.

Not a hijack, but to the edification of Ben, and in the Christian spirit of unity, I'll attempt to mitigate the effects of Syrup's post. A lot of well-intentioned people ( "douche" in this instance) react to hurtful and frustrating scenarios in irrational ways. I think Syrup - and many Libs - are a prime example of this.

He laments the Idea of a no (Universal) Healthcare System that can take care of people like Ben, and many who are less responsible and economically powerless; and frowns on a Private (for profit) System that limits people's access to exceptional care according to the economic power that they bring to the table. In the Utopian Idealist mind...such is morally abhorrent; therein, the anger and antipathy and "irony" toward those (Conservative Christians at the fore) who would defend such a System.

But the whole truth is, that if (Egalitarian) and Government Healthcare were implemented, it would have to be EQUAL. And given that most of the less-powerful (economically) individuals are largely responsible for their bad health via poor choices, and that the care for these poor/sometime immoral choices would be lumped in with those of responsible/moral individuals...ultimate access to the best of care would be limited, as a former poster pointed out...with long lines and rationed access. Such would be a reward for irresponsible and immoral choice, and a punishment for responsible and moral discipline. And contrary to both Mother Nature's Law...and that of God; and therein doomed to failure. "There is a way that seemeth right unto Man, but the end thereof is destruction" (Good Book).

I've made many bad choices in life...heavy cream and butter and lard biscuits up front; working in the Refineries too. We all do. And I look forward to the day that the power of our Collective Knowledge, can lend technological support to a collective healthcare System. One which can help mitigate my poor/relatively ignorant but consequential choice, along with Ben, and all who find themselves in a hard health scenario. If I hope and pray for this, I think the Good Lord will reward accordingly.

The young and idealist Academia Libs should get off the political stage, and get in the Labs, and get to work curing, instead or protesting.

Ben, I offer this in the spirit of unity; I know it is what you would approve of and hope for as well.

Love and God speed.

Pimp. You've been supportive of me from the beginning. I took this as a compliment. All of the support here is humbling to say the least. Thank you all so much.

"Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh" (Good Book).

I've oft contemplated the 'authenticity' of the 'love' expressed between relatively anonymous individuals who only know each other by words typed on a social media forum. Then, when I consider that God (assuming such exists) will judge men "by their words"...I realize that the Word (of Truth) is indeed the ultimate power, to unite people in ways that flesh and blood relationships might not. "In the beginning was the Word...and the Word was with God, and the Word was God".

Death can't touch us, in the big picture. We're neck deep in this thing for eternity. Thank you Jesus, for the slack. I need it.

This really puts all of this political stuff in perspective. I know what I believe and I feel strongly about it, but at the end of the day we’re all still here trying to live life and making the most of the time we have.

We’ve had two cancer diagnoses in the family over the past two years. I haven’t changed my political views, but I have changed how much energy I focus on politics. Life is short.

Keep up the fight, Ben!

I’m just saying it’s times like this I wish folks would see how terrible our healthcare system is and no person, no matter the circumstances should have to go through what you are dealing with. Just because you got sick, you are in a bind and I think that’s wrong.

Sending up some prayers Ben...you are amazing. My brother went into a deep depression when he was diagnosed. Although he continued to work for awhile he stopped posting on message boards. His TD handle was Sir Yin Yang.

You have kept it going and i’m proud to be your TD sis. I will donate again soon. Don’t stop fighting Ben! We support you and Crissie with all our hearts.
