Is the phrase "Brown Noser" offensive?

I used the phrase today on Facebook and admin later told me they thought it was offensive and that I should change it.
It was a pretty common phrase many years ago, and when I was growing up we didn't think twice about it. My mother used the phrase and she doesn't swear or use profanity.
Am I out of touch, or is the admin taking PC to far?

It comes from the fact that dot Indians are famous for sucking up to authority figures. So yeah, I’d say it’s offensive.

It may not be an issue of race but the very issue of shite on one's nose. I am a member of a large hobby forum where the demographic is almost all white middle-aged men and probably 70+% conservative and even the words crap and suck are verboten. You can't even say a product sucks. It is a much kinder gentler type of forum compared to many like this where I can tell you to go frick yourself if you bust in the room while I'm trying to finish on your mom's tits.
If someone is conflating brown noser to a racist phrase then they are simply incorrect, though at its core it is rather vulgar.

I have never called anyone a name on FB or gotten a message. I use it to see family photos and follow restaurant and recipe sites. I rarely accept friend requests and unfollow people who post about politics or religion and one who is a vegan.

But brown nosing, I thought meant for someone who is nosy to where they have their nose in their butt, or someone who is kissing arse so hard, that their nose is in the person's butt, hence the name "brown nosing".
But honestly, who gives a frick if someone is racists? You got drag queen sex offenders reading books to kids at libraries but it seems like if someone is racists they should be given the death penalty.
