Thoughts on Fort Walton Beach Scene

Im looking at buying a condo in the general area between Pensacola and Destin.
Why is the reputation of the Fort Walton area...more family oriented or more of the party crowd ?

I lived out there for a few years, Ft. Walton is trashy. Navarre beach would be my choice.

Nicer areas are Destin , Miramar Beach. I would not buy in Ft Walton.

Look into some of the places in downtown FWB or on Okaloosa Island near the many beach accesses. During the winter there is not a big difference between the crowds in downtown FWB and Destin.

I don't know what I will enjoy more: thinking of you stuck in traffic for 2 hours on a Friday afternoon at the Wallace Tunnel, or having you through $20 in our hopper everytime you go to the beach.

More family. Okaloosa Island has a height limit on condos so beaches aren't as crowded.
