Was it not possible to get him locked up for one more year or so? We’re gonna be in this same exact position next season with more teams needing a QB

Doubt it. I think the two sides are pretty committed to one another at this point. He will want to be paid as a starter and this gives them flexibility to draw up his contract in a way that allows for the burn off of Drew’s money. We also have to sign his weapons to new deals.

Why would you commit to a five year deal now when you can have more flexibility if you do it in a year?
Why would Teddy commit to a five year deal now when we will likely give him a starter deal in a year. Seems like a win win if he’s really going to be your guy.

The man wants to be here. I’ve said all along he’s a very bright guy. He’ll be in position to be a starter on a playoff team loaded with talent. He wil,get his $$$ next year. All hail TEDDYB
