Damn
@AdamSchefter: Teddy Bridgewater will sign a one-year, $7.25 million fully guaranteed contract with the Saints, per a league source.

Damn! Taking all the hit this year

He’s like 10 mill hit on cap

TB? One year ..hmmm. Guess he will see if Brees retires after this season.

Well we will have options for sure. I guess if he DOES end up being the guy they will be able to work his deal in a manner that accounts for Brees dead money hit.

I think this pretty much settles everyone knows this is Drew’s last year. We’ll resign him to a bigger deal next season.

As well as how Saints value his future
Posted on 3/14/19 at 5:35 pm to OMFGKenny
I don’t believe that. If he knew that he doesn’t even think of Miami.

It doesn't make much sense to devote that much money to a backup if you aren't sure Brees is in last year. If Drew signs a one year deal after this upcoming season because he and team thinks he's got another year left, then Teddy walks and you just wasted serious cap space. But that's dealing in worst case scenarios. If we got out future QB than I don't care what we're paying him. QB is the most important position, you do what you got to do

U dumb
@jkatzenstein: RT @diannaESPN: The only way Teddy Bridgewater was taking the job in Miami was if it was life-changing money and that is not what he was offer...

U dumb.
Where does it say he is guaranteed the job after next year?

I’d bet just about anything it’s his job. This gives them the ability to offset the Brees dead money with how they then structure his deal, and structure his deal in a way to sign kamara and Thomas.
Teddy isn’t dumb. He knows that keeping elite weapons in Payton’s offense is the best shot to him getting contracts for the next decade.
