I drug my girlfriend and some others to the midnight opening show, we had been partying a little bit

I was a little wtf when they started talking about trade routes

By the end of the movie I just looked over and said "Is it just me or did that kinda suck?"

We were all in agreement

I think OP hit the nail on the head. The dialogue in that scene was so cringy bad that it was clear the movie was going nowhere. I remember hating the Pod Race as well, and Annie in space was just bricks in the closet at that point.

I was at the age the movie was clearly targeting, and I thought it was terrible.

I thought Attack of the Clones was slightly better. AOTC is a really good movie through the scenes on Kamino, but goes off the rails as soon as Anakin and Padme go to Naboo. The whole mystery assassin thing made sense, but it's like halfway through the movie, they just gave up on that plot to chase the clones, only to completely drop the issue once the war started. Seriously!? No one cared who ordered those clones 10 YEARS AGO!!!!? The fact that they were ready just in time for the war doesn't seem like a little bit of a coincidence? Clearly whoever ordered the clones be created knew the war was coming. Did everyone just say "oh well, I guess we better use all those clones we don't remember ordering 10 years ago". How expensive was all of that!? Where was the money coming from all that time!?

The prequels become better films when some of the excess political discourse and various Anakin/Padme-only scenes are deleted entirely. For instance, I remember seeing the IMAX version of AOTC and it seemed much better for the simple fact they deleted about five minutes or so of the dreadful Anakin/Padme scenes on Naboo.

Never. I loved it. I was 12 and I had posters on my wall, toys, saw it in theaters few times. I was in love.... And then Clone Wars came out. Now that's a movie I hated on first viewing. But I can still watch and enjoy Phantom.

The first time I saw it I hated much about it. But still, I enjoy light sabers and Jedi shite. I just think about what could have been minus the pod race, JarJar, over the top CGI, and cringe dialogue.

When I was absolutely tired of Jar Jar.

Hell, the first few minutes concerned me.

Outside of Jar Jar and yippee/wizard, I still enjoy it. Hell of a lot better than TLJ.

Revenge of the Sith is the second best Star Wars movie behind Empire Strikes Back. Don't give a shite what any of you nerds say.

In retrospect, I should've known the entire franchise was doomed when they re-edited Episode IV so that Greedo shoots first.

The worst part is that the trailer was perfect. I think as soon as I saw Obi Wan’s hairstyle was different in the hanger from what it was three minutes earlier that there was going to be problems.

One thing I never got about this movie that seems like a glaring mistake (or it was a glaring oversight in Revenge of the Sith to finish the prequel trilogy this way)... when Obi Wan is having his final fight against Anakin, he wins by having the high ground. He told Anakin it was over as if the high ground was a certified death sentence.

In TPM, Obi Wan does the same exact thing Anakin does in 3, but he kills Darth Maul instead. I always hated that ending to TPM on its own, but considering the ending to 3, it’s beyond stupid. Darth Maul is just standing there like a dope until he gets cut in half. In 3, Obi Wan slices Anakin in midair, which is exactly what would happen.

I was only in 5th grade so I couldn’t tell it sucked. Now I can’t even watch it.

We found The Phantom Menace entertaining, and better than these more recent Star War offerings. Anyways, only new Star Wars movie worth a darn is Rouge One.... Guess we're in the minority, we thought Phantom menace was a cool ride telling Dark Vaders origins.

The Phantom Menace wasn't that bad and how can someone change their minds years later? If you walked out of theater excited, forgot the worlds BS for 2 hrs or so, and couldn't wait for sequel. You liked the movie you just watched, don't be swayed once you read someones bad review later down the road.
