The whole point of Jim Crow was to limit the job market for minorities. I remember my parents talking about how certain professions used to be a "White Man's job" and that was 30-40 years ago.

It's not hyperbole. You were trying to act like Black people had it made before they could vote or go to integrated schools or get decent jobs. Sorry for busting your bubble.

Try reading up on No Fault divorce and how it has contributed.
Thanks for proving my point that every group has had a breakdown in the stable family. Trying to link it to voting rights, integration, and social programs is just silly.

Weird, black people had stable families until the Civil Rights Act
Yup and Blacks were happy during slavery. Singing all day and stuff. Sounds like fairy tales to me. Every demographic has suffered breakdown in the nuclear family since the 1960's. It's called "no fault" divorce. That's a moral issue not a civil rights issue.
But to make some argument that Blacks had access to equal education, home ownership, and investment opportunities- the things that get people out of poverty- until the 1970's is ludicrous. I am not even going to get started with the criminal justice system. I know better than this and I'm some cracker that grew up in a trailer court.

Black people were cheated out of the things that make stable families and create wealth until well into the 1970's. It seems like to me the people who complain about back people now are the same people who were dead set against integration and civil rights 50 years ago.

Same here. Turns out that the expiration date for an exemption was September 30 not December 31. Had to pay an attorney to basically save a couple hundred bucks. In spite I got audited again the next year.

The motives of the producers seem to be all over the place based on few episodes I saw. Basically it shows the penchant the media has for screwing up things instead of helping in cases like this. There's no telling how much time was wasted on the first suspect the media pointed out and how much damage was done when the media turned on the McCanns.

My GI Bill was screwed up for 6 months. I had enough for rent and had (stupidly) purchased the 15 meals a week Meal Plan. I would go to all the RHA cookouts to get a free hot dog or two. I would go to the Women's Studies event on Sunday because they would order pizza until I was suspected of scarfing down a whole pizza.
Many a Tang breakfast...
I would catch girl doing laundry and pretend the washer I was using was full. I would drop 3 or 4 pieces over in her laundry. Go back to my room and dry them by hanging them up and either running a box fan or a space heater.
Cut out coupons for things I did not buy but used them any way.
Made a $5 Little Cesar's pizza last whole weekend.
Still managed to get drunk every weekend...

Why does Marty's sister, while still ugly, have so many boyfriends in the new 1985?
According to some of the old-timers around here, back in the 80's women used to play a little game called Make You Wait. Apparently, Marty's sister inherited her Mom's gene for under the table friskiness and did more than just park. That would ensure she received the attentions of many a young man.

When Marty comes back from 1955 Doc drives him home. The next morning he gets up and discovers this 1985 is different than the one he left. His brother has a job "at the office" (on a Saturday? Actually I can buy that. He's climbing the corporate ladder) and his mom is still in -the far edge- of Milf territory. And Biff has been turned into a stammering auto detailing asshat.
But why in 1985A- which is what I term this new reality- is Marty & fam still living at the same address? Clearly George is well-to-do if not wealthy- after all Marty has a brand new truck in the garage. And it's clear that George and Lorraine enjoy an upscale lifestyle.
So why still live in run down Lyon Estates? George and Lorraine should have been "movin' on up" years ago.

This is almost as fun as watching the movie. Betting against Marvel because someone might dare make a movie with a viewpoint other than your own is foolish.

1). Tell people they need a college degree to compete in the global 21st Century economy.
2). Look the other way when college don't follow free market based principles.
3) Make snide comments because you were fortunate to have parents who could pay for college back in the 90's. Yet fail to realize you won't be able to pay for your kid's college if this keeps up.
