WTF is he doing?
Gee,I wonder if he was vaccinated as a kid?I would bet just about anything he was.
Gotta love Sen. Cassiduously

Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, who said he knew patients who needed liver transplants because they avoided vaccinations. He and other witnesses pointed out that communities become vulnerable to preventable infections when not enough people have been vaccinated, a concept known as herd immunity.
"If you're such a believer in liberty that you should not be vaccinated, there should be consequences if you infect others," Cassidy said.

You can favor vaccines and still believe the government shouldn't force those who don't to vaccinate their children. This is a limited government position.

Herd immunity to disease is not a false sense of security.
Rand Paul's head always looks like wet pubes fresh out the shower. He reminds me of the weasels in Roger Rabbit.

He didn’t side with anyone on anything. Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill.
It was one set of remarks in a committee meeting. Yawn.

Your title is misleading. He believes the government shouldn't force people to be vaccinated, but as a doctor, he believes they should be vaccinated.
I don't want the government to force vaccinations on people either. Especially when the don't care what kind of diseases are coming in with illegals.

question for people with medical backgrounds.
if i’m vaccinated, how protected am i around people who are infected?

Everyone was back in the normal days. I just dont understand how you pro mass vaxxers can think getting 38 shots before you are 5 is normal plus flu shots

The only people who believe everyone should be vaccinated are dumb nurse girls on Facebook which rank up there with chickens on the iq scale

Just stop it.I know he's a man-God to you but stop with the "limited govt" party line.Measles were declared "dead" in 2000 and now there making a roaring comeback thanks to his mindset.
How exactly do you think Polio was eradicated?
BTW,if it's a "limited govt" posistion how come he makes statements like this:
quote:
Paul acknowledged that those who are not vaccinated could spread diseases to immunocompromised people. But he claimed that “there doesn’t seem to be enough evidence of this happening to be reported as a statistic.”
Or this:
quote:
he claimed to have “heard of many tragic cases of walking, talking normal children who wound up with profound mental disorders after vaccines.”
Please Rand give us examples.
He's attempting to make a counter argument off incorrect statistical data and hearsay...something I rarely him do.He usually backs up his statements/arguements with good imperical/historical data.
BTW there's also a new measles breakoUT here in metro Atl.

I don’t think people should be required to get vaccines, but they should be highly encouraged, and people should be informed about what happens if you dont get the vaccine. It’s unfortunate how many stupid people we have in our country, bc most of them probably need to be forced to get vaccines, but it’s a huge overreach of government to force people to get them

I dont think his mindset is the issue

The reason diseases are coming back isn’t because of anti vaxxers it’s because of Mexicans

So the next time the government tries to force you to do something you don't believe in because they deem it objectively good for you, you'll have no one to blame but yourself.

“We think RD Dawg would be more comfortable as a transgender woman. We are signing him up to have sexual reassignment surgery. We are so excited for him!”
Or
“We think the views RD Dawg is expressing are a sign of severe mental illness. Statistics show people with these views are more likely to be mentally ill and commit mass murders. We are putting him into a mental health treatment facility until he is shown to not harbor hateful views.”

The government shouldn’t be able to force anyone to get shots, but would be well within its rights to deny access to any public services to someone who chooses to not get shots. You want a driver’s license so you can drive on publicly funded roads? Get your shots you fricking idiot.

I always liked Rand but he lost me on this issue.
I’m all for decreasing government, cutting spending, cutting taxes, but I also think not vaccinating is a real public health risk and outside of a legitimate medical excise should be mandatory at criminal expense.
Before you whine anout liberty what about the liberty and civil rights of those out at risk and get a preventable disease because some dipshit believed the pseudoscience about vaccines being bad.

I'm vaccinated and so are my children, but I do believe that the Government being able to force citizens to do something "for their own good" is a dangerous precedent to set...
What's next?
What's next?

This.

I agree with this position.
However, I also think people who do not vaccinate their children should have access to government services. They should absolutely be denied access to public schools. You can do what you want, but that doesn't give you he right to do it to everyone else too.

Well, how else would you be exposed to the illness you're vaccinated against other than infected people?
I'm guessing the vaccination will protect you.
