Nielsen 1999-2000. Back when Caruthers had the fast internet. Limewire ftw

I spent some time at cue nasty, rabbs, sundowner, those were the days. I’d love to move back there. I love that town. Small enough to be small and big enough for trouble.

02-06 here

The fact that we probably knew each other weirds me out.

A long time ago, was Mr Laney still there when you went ?

We hung out at the TECH Pool all summer with those tags you wore on your ankles

Are the Park Avenue apartments still there? They were in some old renovated shop building or warehouse across from a railroad track and green space. Angled parking. Very nice.

ETA

Found them. Here they are. Are they still there?

I was in Mr Laneys last class. He used to throw tennis balls at the kids that fell asleep.

I don’t think we ever wore the ankle tags at the tech pool. We used to go to the holiday inn pool and swim, like it was some sort of country club.

I was scared shitless of that guy until I grew up and figured out he was one of the best teachers Lincoln Parish ever had.

Lived there from ‘98-‘07. Student till 2001 when I got tired of being broke and dropped out to drive for UPS. Worked there until the summer of ‘07. I left to go to flight school for the Army. It was a fun town but the cops man, sheesh. They made it difficult sometimes. I do miss those Rabb’s Burgers and the samiches from Sundown.

I got picked up leaving the Cuestick once. Also got arrested at Rabbs for a bar fight during a David Allen Coe concert in 2002.

Did you do aviation at Tech? If so, you were leaving as I was coming in.

Lucky fricker I did, DWI capital of the USA.

If you are driving after 11PM you are drunk until proven otherwise.

I took article 894 and it never went on my record. Did work at a shelter for battered women

My roommate was a buddy of mine, absolutely brilliant. Engineering major, graduated and went to work in a good job then caught up in drugs and ended up spending a few years behind bars. Sad story but I think he’s doing ok now.

I sure do know Shane. I miss those guys. I left, thinking after flight school, I’d return to work there but life had different plans.

I was enrolled as an aviation student at Tech. I wouldn’t really say I “went” to tech I ended up getting my ratings at ATP once I got done wasting daddy’s money in college.

I was at that concert, 2001. I was watching DAC's tour bus when the music stopped. Walked back in the bar just in time to get a face full of mace from some cop trying to mace 2 dudes going at each other
