They can't but let's not pretend the Reps are bastion of Christianity

I've always wondered how one can claim to be a Christian and be pro-abortion myself.

Catholics are Christians and often vote as you’d expect urban Yankees to vote.

The two definitely do not mesh!!

To vote Democrat these days you must be one of two things, evil or stupid.

If you really want to know, read the Book "God's Politics".

I think there are still a lot of people out there who aren't overtly political, and simply do not follow politics. Their families have been lifelong democrats, so they just keep voting that way.
I'd call them uninformed voters. And I'd say there are a lot more of them out there than I'd care to admit.

It’s easy: they are either ignorant of politics or ignorant of the scriptures.
That isn’t to say they aren’t really Christians, but that they misunderstand what Christ and the Apostles taught about the Kingdom of God. Usually they think the point of Christianity is social justice instead of glorifying God through faith in Christ.

You are taking the moral high ground. The moral high ground sucks. The connotation is that "in the end I will be on the correct side of history." It pisses Republicans off when liberals do it, so you could see how it pisses liberals off when Republicans do it.
It's pointless.
--------
This should be popular.
It could be strongly argued that railing against welfare and proposing to gut the welfare system is incredibly un-Christian.
Stereotyping and making blanket assumptions about the poor and needy as lazy, that could be considered incredibly un-Christian.
...A few weeks ago when there was a thread about never giving to bums and hobos on the street or at the convenience store, THAT WAS INCREDIBLY UN-CHRISTIAN. That was shockingly un-Christian, and the commenters who took part in that thread independently need Jesus!!!

I've been asking myself this question for years and years.
They sit their arse in a house of God and openly support a party that openly advocates murdering human beings.
How in the frick do they reconcile that?

Explain to me how one can claim to follow Christ and also vote for the Democratic Party?
I have a hard time believing Trump or Clinton are great examples of Christianity.
You could ask the same of our president fwiw.

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."

Yeah, to be for Religious freedom, they sure are anti-Christian

They are similar to RINOs in the Republican party. They claim that name only as a means to an end. Same with Christians who want gay marriage, abortion, etc.
Sadly, we are starting to discover that they are abusing the call to reach out to all men. Because it allows them to gain status, and then attempt to alter the edicts of the Bible. Also known as destroying the church
Dangerous times

The demoniac in Mark 1 was, after all, in the synagogue. Satan masquerades as an angel of light (although he's been running around in a unitard with a pitchform of late...).
