A fantastic man from a great family. He will be missed by the Covington community. Somewhere I have a picture of my youngest son and Mac from a visit he made to the local elementary school in 2003. My son couldn't stop chattering about it that evening. Mac wore his LSU jersey and it was like he met a superhero. In a way, he kind of did. What a wonderful memory. It is just one example of how awesome Mac was. Thanks for that memory Mac. Prayers to the family. RIP

RIP Tiger. Man that’s sad and hits home for me. I’ve had two relatives pass from heart attacks in their late 30’s. It’s why I started seeing a cardiologist yearly at age 30.

We had many mutual friends & crossed paths many times with Mac during college. Great guy. Later on would bump into him in random spots, mostly at LSU FB games and such, and would always say hello & chat it up for a bit.
A down-to-earth & genuinely great person that will be missed. Prayers sent to his wife, children & family that must be struggling through this time.
RIP Big Fella.

I hate hearing about this happening to anyone, but man, 37yrs old.....That's a tough pill to swallow. I hate seeing young lives end when they aren't supposed to.

Interesting.
Did Mac get a lot of playing time? I sadly don't recognize his name.
Sad deal all the way around.

At 37? Causes me to wonder if he had some serious undiagnosed heart issue.
Also, whenever the Obit leaves out the cause to death, it always makes me think it's suicide. That's not the case here.
RIP and my condolences to the family.

Good dude. He had just lost some weight too so I know he was trying to get healthier. Baby on the way next month- just really sad.

Looking at his LSU bio he was a walkon in 2000. The bio is incomplete as it was last updated before what appears to be his final season. He did letter at least once, which means at minimum that he was recognized as a good contributor regardless of participation.

Mac was one of the funniest guys to be around. Last time we hung out was the spring game weekend last year. This sucks. RIP Big Mac

That is horrible. Feel so utterly bad for his babies, tough card to deal with for their young lives.
