What’s the one event or decision that changed the trajectory of your life the most?

A plant near my house just laid off a ton of employees. This being the same plant where I worked out of HS. I started thinking about how much different my life could have been if I hadn’t made the decision to join the forces. I could have been one of those guys who had to go home to their families and tell them they’ve just been let go. I’m out now, but it’s lead to so many other opportunities.

Working nights there, realizing I hated it, and the subsequent decision to join the military easily changed the entire trajectory of my life and where I was going. Everyone told me at the time how crazy I was for leaving such a great job. Anybody got a similar story, where one decision or event set you on a different path?

Guess I’m just saying don’t let your dreams be dreams, baws.

Getting shot in the eye.

Completely changed my trajectory. I was signed up to go to the marines, they wanted to send me to officer school.

After that they wouldn’t take me and everything changed

Probably within the past year of moving to Denver. Past cities didn’t take, but I fricking love this place.

Dude, Cameron has always been a cyclical place to work. I bet not many employees have been there for 15 years.

I often wonder what my life would look like today if I hadn't snorted that first line of coke. It controlled my life for a decade and I almost lost it all because of it.

That’s true. Guess it just seems worse in recent years. Sucks for those guys.

Knocked up my gf when I was 19.

I still wonder what my life would be like if I never met her.

When I decided to major in history. Completely ruined my life. Things weren't going too well before that though.

I’m confused. Are you saying your life long dream was to join the military?

Flunking out of undergrad. Best thing that ever happened to me.

Earned enough to return. Never looked back.
