That was the first NASCAR race I watched start to finish. Helluva race too. Stunned when I found out such a seemingly innocuous wreck had killed him.

RIP Intimidator.

Looking back. The crash still doesn’t look that bad. Of course it was...
I’ve seen much worse crashes

There is a decent documentary on the Earnhardt Jeff Gordon rivalry on fox sports

My dad is an educated redneck and was a big fan of his. We used to go to Talladega almost every year when I was younger.

Camping out on the infield was wilder than Mardi Gras. Younger me enjoyed the boobs even if they were trashy as hell

I was at my shitty minimum wage high school job. I was the only one there so I closed up and went home. That was the last day I ever worked by myself

Agreed... He didn't hit the wall head on, but at more of an angle...What bothered me most is that he did nothing after the hit to correct the car in any way... I was scared at that point...........

I was a Junior in HS and I think I was sitting in the ole Alex Box for an early season game when I heard the news.

I was talking about this yesterday. His death makes the slow death of nascar and quite possibly masculinity in America. Guys like him and Burt Reynolds are just gone from our society. Men have become so feminized in our society.

Sitting on the cold tile floor of my parent's den in my wet bathing suit after a morning of Hydrosliding. I remember it all too well. It's a shame to see what NASCAR has done with the sport in the last few years, but that's another topic.
