What Is this nonsense
the no 2, 4, and 5 hitters all hit with runners in scoring position more often than the number 3 hitter
Your leadoff is more important for the ability to be in scoring position more often
the 3 hole is the 5th most important spot

I’d agree with 1 and 2 but explain how 4 and 5 are more important

I read somewhere that the 3-hole often comes up with 2 outs and nobody on in the 1st inning.

The 3 hole kind of gets wasted. It bats with 2 outs without runners on base more than the 4 and 5, and also bats without runners in scoring position more often than the 4 and 5
This isnt really my opinion, this is data compiled on 100000s of innings worth of baseball

Yeah, according to sabermetrics. Plenty of managers still put their highest average hitter in the 3-hole.

Broussard batting 2nd is surprising

Same. I just made it really awkward at work when I did that.

It is. But what if it's pre-injury Broussard that shows up? Would be real nice. Real nice.

It is. If he's anywhere near a 0.300 hitter (which he'll have Duplantis on deck when he hits) then holy ****
Edit: Woah

yea, he's sneaky good at getting on base. Honestly I rather have him in the 1 hole than 2 hole.

Remember, he was great hitter at Delgado (singles guy, but still). Going INTO conference play he was over .300 last year, then he got hurt, and just wasn't the same after that. I think he even went .400 in the Missouri series before he got hurt next series.
He's also ridiculously fast. So he can stretch singles into doubles between savvy heads up base-running and steals.

Cabrera protected by Watson...Watson protected by Garza...

Wow. I have some comments on this...
First, Walker had plenty of time to be extended. Kid is WAY more than 12 months removed from surgery. I think we are coming up on 20 months actually. There's been plenty of time to start a game and go 4-5 innings. I smell bullshite in that excuse. Either they think Hill is better and are giving him 2 weeks to try and steal that roll, or Walker at a major setback no one knows about.

quote:What a crock of shite. We all finally thought we'd get Dup in the leadoff, but no. We end up with Smith there but Broussard in the 2? Are we just going to bunt every time Smith gets on base? Is that the thought? And then we were told Garza to 4. Maybe PM wants some more fastballs for Watson. But at what expense? None for Garza?
1. Smith
2. Broussard
3. Duplantis
4. Cabrera
5. Watson
6. Garza
