You expect people on the PT to actually make sense now?

My stance on vaccines hasn’t changed one bit fwiw.

Because it's not appropriate for a disease that has a greater than 99.7% survival rate and living without a kidney probably has a lot less of a survival rate.

Pretty much all our institutions are guilty of losing the public trust

Refusing to acknowledge natural immunity
Refusing to acknowledge the absurdity of continuing to promote the vaccine as a antidote to community spread
Refusing to acknowledge the healing powers of mountain dew code red

I know this image is all fun and games but in the end it boils down to how much you trust “science” and “big pharma” to do what is best for you and not what makes them the most money.

I’m sure I’ll get down voted into oblivion but in the last 18 mo my trust in “science” has taken a huge hit. Covid targets unhealthy people and yet you NEVER HEAR that simply making healthy choices will go a long way in protecting someone. The answer simply is take the shot and you will be ok until heart disease or diabetes or something else comes calling.

Organ recipients have been required to get a laundry list of vaccines for years including flu which also has 99.7% survival rate

And the survival rate for covid isnt 99% for somebody with ESRD

Probably the folks from third world countries that we allowed to casually stroll across our border unchecked and create problems when problems didn’t exist.

I get called an antivaxxer even though my kids are vaccinated, and I've said from the beginning that the covid vax was huge for certain segments of the population who were most at risk, but that mandates for the no risk and incredibly low risk were absurd, in general but also as a policy decision benchmark.

This bump will spotlight how we've conflated the previous definition of anti-vaxxer (which were people who wanted to get rid of vaccines) with someone who is anti-vax mandate and doesn't think every kindergartener and healthy college kid should be forced to get it .

Of course there are many from before the bump who went hard in the paint and will struggle a bit to pull it back.

Before COVID this was not even debated or controversial.

Didn’t the person already have Covid though. Shouldn’t that matter?

Do you really think it's fair to put an EUA vaccine on the same level as vaccines with FDA approval?

No it doesn't. Viruses don't discriminate where they look for a host. Unhealthy people are at higher risk for worse outcomes though, and healthy people with it and minimal symptoms can spread it to other people just as easily as unhealthy people.

I say it's their choice. As with any choice, there are consequences of those choices.

Not vaccinated, don't run to the hospital if you get sick
Not vaccinated, be prepared to pay for your own hospital stay if your insurance makes a choice not to cover Covid Infections.
Not vaccinated, be prepared to find another job if your current gig decides to require workers to be vaccinated.
Not vaccinated, be prepared to be denied entry to businesses that require everyone to show proof of vaccination; it's their choice.

The anti-vaxxer are not the only people who have the right to choose.

Dude. Vaccinated folks spread the virus as well. Like you said, if you are in good shape then you have little to worry about. People would rather eat their Doritos and wash it down with a Diet Coke.
