Could they not make the lake chuck loop a "roundabout" while they do construction?
It will put you out 10 minutes..
Which is waaay better than the 3 hour bullshite I had to sit in coming back from Houston.

not sure what you're getting at here. The loop bridge is the one under construction.

So there’s not much improvements to infrastructure and other important public entities such as schools?

what?

LC is one of the few metro areas in LA with solid public school options

I lived in dc for 3 years and commuted part time from our dc apartment to fairfax, va... granted I always avoided the beltway but traffic wasn’t as bad for me if you knew what to do than it is in Baton Rouge... I lived in Br for 13 years

The I-10 bridge should have been replaced 20 years ago.

Per Baton Rouge Advocate regarding the Misissippi River Bridge.

"The corridor is one of the most heavily congested – and complained about – in the Baton Rouge area.About 180,000 cars and trucks cross the bridge daily."

This along with the single lane coming off of the east bound dirrection makes for a major cluster frick no matter the day or time. I don't know how bad it is in Lake Charles, but it's hard to think it could be worst considering the circumstances.

They aren’t expanding the 210 bridge. They are just repaving it and adding new lights. That’s not building more infrastructure that’s just bullshitting.

Louisiana sucks BBC and it’s getting worse everyday.

It's not exactly fun going through Lake Charles but it's far from the nightmare of BR traffic.

Anybody have a good detour route to get from Texas to Lafayette? I don’t mind going about 20-25 miles out of the way

And yea so are you. Kinda shitty? Have you tried driving from sulphur to LC lately. I left work at 3 and 210 was backed up to the split at a dead stop. i-10 was backed up to 210. Kinda shitty my arse.

The large construction jobs plus 210 bridge construction makes it horrible. In town is not good either. City planning has not kept up with growth. One large job, near bottom of 210 bridge, is finishing up. Many have already been laid off, more soon to follow. This will help some on Sulphur side of bridge.

These motherfrickers have not been to Westlake and lake Charles lately and saw me say how it’s worse than BR and got all offended so they had to come on here to say how I’m wrong. Drive from Sulphur to Lake Charles at 6:30 like I did and then come back and tell me how wrong I am. You frickers act like I’ve never been to BR. I know how bad it is and the past two weeks I have sat in LC traffic.

Houston has a good track record with road projects but they've fricked this one up. Was supposed to be completed 4th quarter 2017.

They added more to 290 but also if not completed by a certain day in 2019 it's a $35K/day fine

Take the Deweyville exit (Highway 12) and then take 171 south to I-10. Probably add about 30-40 minutes to your trip but you will avoid the bridge and the delays associated with it.
