It was produced in 1974. I was 3.
When I was old enough and watched it for the first time at some point in my teenage years it was one of my favorite comedies.
What's the likelyhood that this movie would or could be produced these days.
What would be the backlash from the PC Police?
I'm kinda surprised to see it on cable TV.

I've said for years that Blazing Saddles is the funniest movie of all time and I stand by that statement.
Very unlikely. But, what a lot of people dont know, is that Richard Pryor was responsible for a lot of the racist jokes.
I remember Mel Brooks saying that he expressed concerns to Pryor and Pryor told him "If you dont do it, it wont be funny."

You shifty n!&&[$ they said you was hung.
"They was right to"
I've probably heard that line 1000 times.
Soo much gold in that Movie that would absolutely be blasted in present times. Which IS sad, IMHO.

Written by Dave Chapelle and Trey Parker and directed by Jordan Peele it could absolutely work.

One of my favorite Mel Brooks movies and no way in hell it would be made in today's climate of PC and everybody having their "feelings" hurt.
If they show it on the cable movie channels they don't edit the hell out of it.

Yep - the toll booth is one of the best parts.
The entire movie is great and funny as hell. But anyone who watches it on AMC and hasn't seen the uncut version is missing out on what I think is one if not, of the best comedies ever.

The rape joke alone would make Brooks the new Satan.

Imagine how the #metoo crowd would react to Madeline Kahn's "I'm so tired" song

Probably would not do it for the good of our health.....they would KILL us.....DEVASTATE the audience......the pain would be so frickin profound. People would laugh so hard many would literally bust a gut and have facial palsey from laughing so hard.

Back when people could laugh at themselves and didn’t have the little SJW Nazis prowling around looking for things to be offended by.
And the ones that did were just told to shut up and laughed at.
And now we give them power

One of last night's Jeopardy answers was about the movie in which Madeline Kahn falls asleep while singing "I'm Tired".
I blurted out the answer while my wife looked at me like I grew a third eye.
