Been going to Meadown Lake area for about 8 years now. Saskatoon to North Battlefield then straight north for an hour and half to the town of Meadow Lake. Town is a real dump but some of the best duck shooting and goose hunting in the world in my opinion in this area. Not really duck hunting... Geese are different, that is hunting. They have it all in this area.

As for OP question I would pick Missouri for consistency. I have hunted Texas and West Louisiana all my life. When it is good it is great. When it is bad... it is just flat bad.

I've hunted the hartz woods as well. its a nice place for sure.

me, id have to probably go with Witt Stephens place, formerly known as Russells, or Russel mccollums. Slicks Would also be up there.

I just like being able to watch birds work, and often with mallards in timber you dont get that opportunity.

I hunt a big flooded bottom off a river that is a sea of cattails with pockets of open water. What I love hunting there is two fold:

1 you never know what you're going to shoot in there. Mallards, grays, teal, Canada geese, wigeon, redheads, cans, divers, woodies early season, etc....

Secondly what I love is that it's a pretty big area so you see the birds from a ways off and get to watch them work.

Dont get me wrong, I love mallards sitting on you in timber, but watching them work in from a quarter of a mile away as they cup and circle and call and then finally decide to land is WAY more enjoyable to me and why i think people like hunting the marsh.
