I know what you mean, but are you under the impression that ISIS made the strategic decision to hideout in a cave somewhere for months just waiting for the President to suggest a pullout, and then make this strike? Because that is not very likely.

Its far more likely that there continue to be (and will be for the foreseeable future) isolated ISIS cells and members all over the damn place in that region. The isolated bombing incidents have and will continue to occur in that area of the world. It's more realistic in my mind that ISIS will strike at Americans/Westerners/whomever they happen to be jihad-ing against whenever the opportunity presents itself. I highly doubt American domestic debates on foreign policy are very high on al-Baghdadi's list of things to consider, to whatever extent "ISIS" is still centrally organized.

It is not our prerogative to maintain a peaceful Syria. That is the job of the Syrian government. Putting our soldiers in harms way by injecting them into a conflict we don't understand and cannot resolve is ridiculous.

All evidence at the time of his statement were contrary to the idea that ISIS in syria was "defeated"...
It is the kind of premise which would hold Japan was not defeated and WWII lasted into the 1970's because individual Japanese soldiers continued fighting to that point.

Defeated" does not mean "largely mitigated." Sorry. Your statement is a second lie, not that it matters to you.

Defeated also doesn’t mean completely eradicated, which is what you want to imply was said while pretending to be reasonable.

ISIS is an uncontrolled gang. They’re not a defined military or entity represented by a foreign state.

There’s not going to be a surrender. The only literal way to defeat something of that nature is to kill them all which isn’t possible.

Therefore, it can only be...mitigated.

I’m more inclined to believe the man meant that instead of what you want to think.

So you want our troops to stay indefinitely. Got it.

Unbelievable how the left is now the most hawkish group out of spite for one man.

my brother-in-law is supposed to be being shipped out to Syria in a couple of months but they keep pushing back his deployment date.

i told him the odds of him going dropped dramatically but they're still going to tell him he's 100% going. that's how the military works.

His stance also reveals he must not believe Germany was defeated in WWII. There are still people out there that currently identify themselves as NAZIs

About that PROPOSAL

How can I not respond to someone trying to make political hay out of the violent death of Americans?

Second question. Does anyone think that now, the homeland is safer from ISIS sponsored or motivated attacks?

ISIS has been driven out of the urban areas and major population centers, right? SO why can't we just let Israel nuke the few villages that are still in? Solves the ISIS problem and the muslims already hate Israel so nothing changes on that front.
