Great job? His best season is a 3 loss season.
When the hell did 3 loss seasons become great at lsu?

Decent season but 3 losses should be our floor because there arent 3 teams more talented than us on this past year's schedule.

Well let’s be real..... would a two loss season be ‘good enough’? Of course it will not be. Never mind the fact that we won the division, conference and NC with only one less loss.
Just think, we were one more win away from a NC caliber season.

I would say that given the limitations of the roster he inherited; the number of injuries and attrition incurred; quarterback situation and schedule it was a damn fine season. We let two games slip away but they were both on the road against good teams.

If 3 losses is the floor then we failed a number of times since 2007.

This team could have easily had a 1 loss season. Florida and A&M slipped away. Sure we all wish we had those wins, but this was a fun and entertaining season. Can't for next season to get here! Hoping to read fewer posts from you though.

With all due respect, we got royally fricked against aTm. The Gump and Jort game is solely on him.

Yes, ultimately we want more wins but in judging his work, we need to look at more than that early on.

For example, do we still have more kickers on scholarship than we have LBs?

Since Les decimated the offense with poor recruiting.

Are counting that O-line. Because there are at least 6 in the SEC better.

You guys predicted 6 losses. O took a team with 9 new offensive starters and won 10 games against one of the toughest schedules in the country. First 10 win season since 2013.

A good year from your measure would have been 8 and 4.

4 wins against top ten teams.

We had a deeply flawed roster at the end of 2016. More kickers than linebackers. Only 9 offensive lineman on the roster. Very underwhelming QB room.

Another solid recruiting class. Roster is reloaded and finally balanced. Still, very young.

Saban, in his five years at LSU, only lost less than 3 games in one season, his 4th...

Is it more than a little amusing that a great job now includes 10-3, 5-3 for LSU football.

Before, anyone could win 10 games at LSU. Before, 9-3 in a 12 game season with a O better than the one we have now was almost a fireable offense.

It was a good season. A good season that could have been great if not for losses to 2 teams that should have been wins. Hopefully, we can build on this season and even become a challenge to win the west.I believe that is one of the main reasons we made a coaching change almost 3 years ago.

You, sir, are a classless, ignorant dipshit, expecting excellence- and even perfection-from everyone but yourself.

He’s referring to the overall job versus expectations. Plus recruiting in which we could end up with 4 or 5 - 5* star players when all is said and done.

He was literally 2 plays from a 11-1 season. And the Florida game was so freaking close it hurts. If burrow doesnt fumble in the redzone vs Florida we win. If the fumble in overtime vs atm is called correctly we win or the phantom PI against greedy isnt called we go to 8ot with another chance. This season was literally inches away from being in the playoffs at either the #3 or #4 spot. LSU had a hell of a year, it wasnt always the prettiest but we got their. With chassion not getting injured and having Phillips vs Florida I think we could have easily gone 11-1, but nothing could have controlled that. And that's not to mention all the suspensions and injuries on our oline for the course of the year. And we still managed to go 10-3. If we had a healthy oline and chassion all year things would have been incredible. 2019 we will be older, stronger, faster, and smarter on both sides of the ball. The defense should be better even though we lose white and greedy. And the offense loses no one of importance, and we gain 2 top RBs, so it should be significantly better. 2018 was a great season, but 2019 could be very very special

Decent season but 3 losses should be our floor because there arent 3 teams more talented than us on this past year's schedule.

It's the first season since 2011 that we will finish ahead of our pre-season ranking.

Will also be the first time since 2011 that we will finish top 10.

This team was 114th out of 120 teams and 13th out of 14 SEC teams in number of games started by returning starters.

Our current recruiting ranking average for the 2019 class is 91.39 which is the highest since 2009 (91.52) when we had the top class in CFB.

There are a lot of areas that need to improve, but all things considered, it was a very good season. I still have concerns with the OC situation, but this season was successful considering the lack of elite offensive talent. They far exceeded expectations.

Welp who exactly is responsible to load our roster with talent? Miles left our roster on the line of scrimmage far behind Alabama. We had more kickers on Scholarship than linebackers

The fan base and local media created such negativity around Miles last two years and orgeron that we lost several key recruits in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Orgeron recruited to need on the line of scrimmage in 2017. Then went and got a QB and two kickers. Without the QB we probably do go 6 and 6 or 7 and 5.

With respect to our loss to Florida. It was our defense that let us down in the 4th quarter or that game is won... again at TAM our defense allows a 60 yard touchdown drive with only 39 seconds left in the game. Or we are 11 and 1. Again we did fumble a pass not that cost us. Hard to see how the Ensminger offense hurt us against TAM. Florida clearly beat our offensive line badly.

Actually very tired of the non stop crap about the OC and how much talent we have so that 10 wins is a given. Reality is we have less talent than Bama. Florida. Georgia TAM are right their with us. Some better position groups some less. We have clearly trailed on the line of scrimmage for several years. We have not had an all SEC defensive lineman in 5 to 7 years. Our recruiting class ratings and our nfl pipeline was/is heavily waited to skill position players..

With this particular team???....yea he did a good job. This team WAS NOT that talented man for man...sorry it wasn't.
To win 10 games with this schedule....and basically have one of our losses handed to us by the cheating fking refs....I'd say he's done a good job

BUT.......fire Steve!!!!!! He's still got to go.

The most talented team doesn't always win...especially when the other team gets "help." You know this.
