this is how I see it. Agree 100%.

He chose the lesser of two evils.

I may be crazy but somewhat agree. As his salary has gone up the performance has slacked off. More and more you are starting to see some Chavis like things. At the end oh half’s and games when we have a chance to put our foot on the throat we allow teams to go down and score making things more interesting that needed like against A&M and again yesterday. Although yesterday you definitely have the big excuse. With the $$ we are paying him and the talent we have coming back there is no reason why we shouldn’t have a dominant, like 2011, type defense!

Twice as many people have downvoted this thread than they upvoted the shout out to kary vincent jr thread. Let that sink in OP.

You are dead right, but you’ve touched one of the third rails of LSU football. Aranda is a good defensive coordinator, but he is erratic. We had Rashard Lawrence, Fehoko, and Alexander on the defensive line this year. They were backed by a lot of good young linemen. We had Devin White with Divinity, and Queen at LB. We had two All-Americans in the defensive backfield plus Fulton (who people in the know rate as high as Greedy).

With all of this, Aranda fielded a good - not great - defense. In his early days at LSU Chavis would have turned that talent into a great defense. LSU fans are going to be very surprised how good some of these defensive players are - and I mean at every level of the defense. There is an awful lot of NFL talent to produce such pedestrian results.

You're probably right, but we're going to play a lot tougher teams in the SEC that mistakes like that will cost us the game. I like Aranda, but he needs to be called out for his lack of adjustments!
There's a saying. When you find yourself in a hole, the first thing you should do is stop digging. Decent advice.

Against A&M, we let their QB pick us apart even though we knew he made bad decisions when he's hurried.

Dave Aranda is way more than good. There is no perfect but he is responsible for most of our wins and very few losses. You must know we were thin on both lines this year. why support an insane claim with half truths. Bama is the reason we havent won championships, not UCF. The masses are right on this one.

I do agree that against A&M he continued to rush three even though we would get torn apart through the air on those plays. When we rushed 4 or 5 we created negative plays or incompletions. I didn't understand it.

I was pissed about the TD at the end of the half but you can’t say that guy wasn’t covered as well as he could be. The throw was absolutely perfect and with that coverage probably only a 10% chance of being completed.

What bothered me more is when we called a TO before UCF punted. I believe there was 3+ min on the clock and even if we get the ball with 2 min we had plenty of time to score...we were up 10 and should’ve not given the ball back with enough time for them to score
