Do stop signs in parking lots have any legal meaning?

I am talking about like a shopping center. There are no DOT or government ID stickers on the backs of the signs.

Nope, neither do crosswalks. Do as you please

I don't completely stop for them, ever, unless there are other cars coming....in that case, I follow proper right of way etiquette.
I'd bet that's the only reason they put them in to begin with....to establish right of way, rather than leaving it for the people to decide. It likely prevents more wrecks on their property that I'm sure they'd rather not have at all.

They don’t have the DOT stamps on the back so i don’t know.
It’s private property so I’m pretty positive you can’t get a stop sign ticket since it’s not on a public roadway.

I know the bridge police ticket people in the Walmart lot next to the Huey P bridge here. Because they’re a fund raising organization more than a police organization.

I don't think running the stop sign will get you a ticket, but running it and hitting someone is probably going to be a problem for you.

Is there one of those "police" video things in the lot over looking your stopping habits? Cause i'm sure they'll get there faster to ticket you than stop a car break in.

No. They are like yield signs and speed limit signs. They are just there as a suggestion. Also, at night, it gives you a bright target against a dark background to throw your beer bottles at.

You guys be careful leaving private property, even if there is a stop sign.
The person leaving private property must yield to everything when entering a public roadway in Louisiana.
La Statute

I asked a cop in lodge onetime about this and he said that he had looked for an actual written law/statute that applied to private property. He said he couldn’t find one.
Now, the real question: do drunk driving laws apply to private property? Because if they do, I’ve driven drunk on the golf course many times.

Years ago I heard,
The only ticket you could be issued was for wreckless driving.

The family property I grew up on has a very long driveway...almost a mile. There are 5 homes along this private driveway. One day the city put a stop sign where it meets the road.
We thought this was hilarious. My brother and I stole it a couple times but they kept putting it back. Next time I visit I’m going to check for this sticker y’all mentioned.

No, in fact police really can't do anything for accidents in parking lots unless there is injury. They are just to remind people they should yield to perpendicular traffic.

I don’t think I’ve ever stopped at one of those before if I didn’t have to. Love blowing through those
