Just curious. I would like to know if you are affected by the shutdown. So far, I’m good. What is your experience.

I am one of the millions that died

I had to cancel my trip to white sands NM and Carlsbad Caverns because both national parks are closed during the shutdown. Thanks Trump!

Nada, zilch, zero
Just like everyone else in America that doesn't work for the government.
I am, however, thankful for the hundreds of millions of tax dollars saved over the life of the shutdown. Does that count as being affected?

Did it shut down? Haven’t watched any news today. Haven’t noticed any changes.

I won't get paid for about 30% of my business until the government re-opens.
That being said, I wish it would permanently shut down.

At the post office right now.
50 people in line and 2 working the counter so, everything seems normal.

No change in my life. Anxious to hear what my liberal family members have to say in a couple of days though. Lol

It's all cool till Wednesday. After that per Fox news the following will close.
Nine of the 15 Cabinet-level departments are to shutter, along with dozens of agencies. Those departments are: Agriculture, Commerce, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Justice, State, Transportation and Treasury.

Agriculture
Won't even be the entire Department. Some agencies will keep the doors open because of prior year appropriations. About half of the 25% not currently funded will actually have a workforce showing up Wednesday for business as usual.

I’m an economist currently on the job market. The American Economic Association meetings are the first week of January, which is the number one time of year for gov, academia, and private industry to hire economists. If the gov is shut down at the end of the year, a lot of those agencies will cancel their interviews creating a substantial demand shortage (gov is single biggest employer of economists in US). I didn’t apply for any gov jobs, but still, the demand shortage would depress wages this cycle, so I’m a bit disappointed this came to a head at this time.
But it is what it is, not going to sit around whining about it. I’m going to make sure I’m prepared to nail the interviews, then just gotta hope the labor surplus doesn’t drive the wage offers down too far below the standard.

I filled up my diesel and saved $5 by going to Fairview.
Filled up 140 lbs. of propane tanks at tractor supply.
Getting my car washed.
Not affected!

Trump's shutdown has altered my life immensely. He is a genius.

I wish I was affected by a shutdown... in the form of saving my tax dollars.
Unfortunately, all that cash still gets dolled out.
