Democrats, what's your argument against the wall?

Help me to understand. I mean, essentially you're saying you don't want anything making it more difficult to illegally enter the United States. Would that be fair to say?
And before you say you don't want it because it wont work, let me assure you it will. I was a Border Patrol agent for over 10 years and I've seen what infrastructure can do in thwarting illegal entries. I worked before the fencing went up in 2006-09 and worked after.
Any liberals care to chime in on why you/your party is so vehemently opposed to blocking this wall?

There are only two reasons here why they are against it.
1) Keep democratic votes coming by way of new voters.
2) It is Trump’s idea. If HRC came up with it, they would be all-in.

I’m not a liberal. I’m solidly Republican. I think it’s a huge waste of money. And I’m passed that Trump gets to say a million times that Mexico will pay for it and then threaten to shut down the government if the US taxpayers don’t pay for it.
If you’re a conservative who believes in small government why would you want us to pay for a wall?

They are doing this so the President cant fulfill his promises. I know someone will say that he said Mexico will pay for it, but that is because our elected officials (left) know how to play the game.

If we are going to debate wasteful spending, border security (including border barriers) are at the bottom of the list. Probably doesn’t even deserve to be on it.

Let’s agree that a wall will be effective at preventing people crossing the border. If it is effective at keeping people out, wouldn’t you assume that it’d be equally effective at keeping people in? Why would any American want to empower their gov’t with the ability to prevent them from leaving the country?
