Isn’t there usually cabinet changes following a midterm election?

I recall bush and obama saw some shuffling after first midterms

there is.

I think Mattis was seen as a stable force inside the white house. He was respected by left/right plus our allies.

Trump has made the MSM look foolish. Just a few years ago they detested our presence in the mid-east. Now, they have become war hawks.

And I agree with Trump on this move. Time for the mid-east to either sink or swim. I'm tired of having our people killed over there. frick them. Let Russia have it (good luck to you Russia).

Trump has made his own supporters look foolish. Just a few years ago they detested the thought of leaving the middle east and not protecting us from terrorists. Now, they have become Dems and have let the terrorists rule the middle east which will only allow them eventually come through Mexico and kill every American.

Trump wanted this done in March he campaigned on it. It is odd how suddenly the political left are war mongers.

Trumps right in all of this. It’s hard telling the military that the missions over and there will be more pissing and moaning when we start withdrawing from Afghanistan.

Yeah, I know. When Obama was trying to get out of Iraq, this board was cheering him on and this board was NOT saying we're surrendering to terrorists and this board was NOT saying Obama was making he was making America unsafe, right?

Obama gloated about how easy it was to kill people and droned more people than Bush and Trump, he ended up loving war too. I don’t like any of the presidents but if one wins me over it is going to be the one that gets us out of all the countries we shouldn’t be in.

I'm guessing he doesn't support pulling out of Syria.

Exactly! You don't leave a VOID in that area to be exploited by Russia and Iran. Dumb arse move; validates he does not listen to his advisors.

Who cares?

I'm tired of all these minor proxy wars that are never ending and accomplish dick. Anything short of World War III is a waste of our time.

Mattis said Trump needs a Sec of Defense that shares Trump’s agenda/vision. I understand Trump is America first, it’s all about MAGA. What’s Mattis’ vision? Is he a globalist? Or is he wanting to remain engaged in endless wars where victory is never achieved? IDK

Obviously Gen Mattis did, among others from all political sides. I'm with them.

We don't need to be there anymore. We produce enough oil to be self sufficient. That's really the only reason we are there.

Then your understanding is wrong.

Mattis is a true patriot.

Nah man. You aren't "with" anyone. You just spout out whatever you're told to.

Even if this is true, he's a patriot who's wrong if he believes we should be sticking around in Syria and Afghanistan.

In less than two years, Trump has gone through

— Three chiefs of staff
— Three national security advisors
— Two Secretaries of State
— Two DHS secretaries
— Two HHS secretaries
— Two VA secretaries

With Attorney General, UN ambassador, Interior, Defense vacancies now to fill

I really don't care man. If we're really leaving these silly wars it's worth losing every member of his cabinet and never being able to fill them again in my opinion.
