I think this was the final straw for Mattis.
He’s a man that has done a tremendous service for our county. He publicly hated the withdrawal from Iran and I bet he’s hates this withdrawal from Syria/Afghanistan especially given that it was so sporadic and out of the blue it seems like.
All of it needed to happen though and the folks at the Pentagon have their own agenda. It’s certinly not valuing American lives. It’s purely decisions driven for profit.

Hasn’t done jack shite about the social experiments the Obama administration put in place in the military. This is the biggest by the way considering administering the military and setting military policy is his main job.

Is Mattis upset about leaving in general or is it just the blundering way it is announced?
I am all for getting the hell out. Is it just a disagreement on pace and timing and when things are made public?

Truth be told there likely has been a Russian Presence in Syria since the 60's. They drive Russian tanks use Russian missile systems and fly MiG's this is nothing new.
