I look forward to Fox Mulder threads every week about the Booger diabeetus crane.

A lot has been said about ESPN’s experiment with a three-man broadcast booth for Monday Night Football.
Most of it hasn’t been positive.
From admitted rookie mistakes to a gaining a host of social media critics, Jason Witten has taken a lot of heat for being bland, awkward and sometimes inaccurate with his analysis.
His color commentary partner on the broadcast Booger McFarland has been more warmly received, but catches flak for his “Boogermobile” gimmick that seems to serve no legitimate purpose but to obstruct the view of paying customers.
The response to play-by-play man Joe Tessitore is lukewarm at best, leading to an overall general disdain for the “Monday Night Football” broadcast.
That’s apparently not stopping ESPN from bringing back the entire show for next season.

And I expect to continue watching with the volume off and the radio on

I don't understand the Tessitore hate.

Their plan was to attract non-football fans to the broadcast with halftime performances by mediocre bands and gimmicks galore, apparently.
Purists don't care for it. Strip it down and make it about football again and you will bring back some of your audience.

Last night was the first night in a very long time watching MNF and I have to say that might be the worst I have ever heard for any sporting event I have ever watched on TV.
eta: whomever thought putting those guys on TV together should be fired.

Booger. It's a funny name.

Jason Witten has the gift of saying the obvious things that no one wants to hear.

Booger is dumb as a rock on football strategy - he may be slightly less awkward than Witten but he's at least as bad if not worse overall.

Jason Witten and Tessitore are fricking awful
Booger is a non factor IMO.. doesn’t really add much, but I don’t hate his analysis..

I watched MNF for the first time this year. All I can say about the broadcast team is they are:

Booger is better than witten and Tessitore for sure

These are the same television executive "geniuses" you defend when I complain about 13 nationally-broadcast Cowboys games every year.
They're lazy and stupid and you can't defend them.

Tess screams too much - needs to calm the frick down.

I think the hate comes from his theatric presentation and description of literally every, single, play. Not everything is hyper critical but if you listen to him and shut your eyes, you’d think that 2 yard run in first down halfway through the first quarter was a goal line stand of a team up 4 with no time left on the clock

And an ABSOLUTE STRIKE BY BREES THERE AND THEY GAIN A HALF YARD

That seems to be the mentality throughout all entertainment nowadays though.
1. Build strong following.
2. Try to expand by attracting people who weren’t interested the first time by alienating the original core.
Truly mind boggling.

Romo stepping into a starring role really messed up these TV execs. Witten should be learning his craft on MAC games. I think Booger can play a decent role somewhere, but he just seems to be more of a studio guy. Tessitore should be on the fourth best college game every week.
If you look at ESPN's college announcing roster that they could pull from, there just isn't much talent out there. They already used McDonough for PBP. Dave Pasch is the only other one I like for that. Blackledge is about it for solid color commentary.

There are tons of guys who are way better. ESPN is just dumb.

Annoying how they seem to lock in on a player from the start of the game than continue to stroke him off for the next four quarters. I realize this is on the producers as much as the announcers, but it just comes off lazy and rehearsed.
