re: Random WWII fact. Treblinka

Years ago, I watched a documentary called Shoah. It was about nine hours of interviews with people that were somehow a witness to the Holocaust. They might have lived near a camp, they may have been Jews that survived the camps, a Nazi soldier, the engineer that drove the train, whatever. The documentary goes into great detail about how much effort the Nazis put into making the death camps into highly efficient killing factories. It's all subtitled and not easy to stick with in spots. But if you ever have the time and can find a copy, it's a must see for those who have an interest. They do a great job of showing just how evil these people really were and to what lengths they would go to make their "Final Solution" a success.

Forgot to say, they interviewed a former guard from Treblinka. They pretended to be Neo Nazi sympathizers, or whatever, and filmed him with a hidden camera. They asked him about a song that the Jews were forced to learn and sing for the Commandant of the camp. His comment was something like, yes he made them learn and sing the camp song for his entertainment, even though he knew they would be dead within 24 hours of arriving.

Ironically they called it the "Road to Heaven"

If anyone wants to feel good about his/her life in America, read about Josef Mengele. Was at Auschwitz-Birkenau instead of Treblinka but still. That motherfricker would sew twins together, inject dye into their eyes, infect both twins with diseases to see which one would die first, switch arms on the twins, and so many other atrocious things.

Dad's unit was just outside Buchenwald when the war ended. They went to the town and made the German's come into the camp and walk through it. According to dad, They swore they never knew. Most were angry at the US troops and very few cried at what they saw.


56,000 died there. Until about a year before he died, Dad refused to talk about it. However, for years, he would get up in the middle of the night and walk the house.

A lot of brainwashed sheep in this thread.. Always research both sides of a story, rather than listening to one side, which is mostly Soviet propaganda.

You’re right, your attempt to shift the context of evil in a thread about the Holocaust is a brilliant game plan.

Your banal attempt at what you consider your point was weak, everyone knows murders occur daily worldwide.

To bring that up in a Holocaust-related thread was dumb.
