That’s all for show/ratings. Georgia got owned by Bama with a backup QB in the second half and got housed by a three loss LSU team.

Seriously? He moves Georgia up after they lose but Oklahoma wins their conference and he keeps them out? Is this real life?

It's insane.

Not only to move them up after a loss, but to move them to #3!?????

#1,#2, and #3 didn't do anything to warrant being jumped by a LOSING team.

I agree. Man, I know they say some stuff so people tune in and they get ratings and all but that's ludicrous to say that.

I hope it happens, and the Big 10, Big 12, and PAC12 Champs are ALL left out. Would be a lot of clamoring for an 8-team playoff, which is far and away the most logical format...5 conference champs, 3 at large (including 1 P5 school if within top 12). Boom, i'm pulling for it now.

The 4 best teams in college football should be the teams that are in the college football playoffs. Do they appear to be one of the best? In his opinion, as well as mine, they are one of the best. Who is better? I would have Clemson and Georgia tied for 2nd best teams with Ohio State rounding out the top 4. Notre Dame or Oklahoma would not beat Georgia or Ohio St. on a neutral field.

No, he didn't backtrack....the other halftime show guys kind of laughed... one of the guys was saying I definitely drop Ga. to 5 and not reward them for a loss

Goergia's done, they had their chance. Let them go to a bowl game now and enjoy their good season, but no playoffs. Herbstreit is smoking at a bar in Massachusetts somewhere.

That would be ridiculous. And I believe that Georgia is absolutely better than Notre Dame and Oklahoma. But the best teams don't always get in. If that doesn't seem fair, that's because life isn't fair.

People cried for a playoff system for years and years, while some of us warned it would change nothing, and only cause more people to complain that they should be included. Those people got their playoff, and they'll have to learn to live with the fact that there is no perfect system, and you have to win your games to have a chance.

This is why the BCS was created, to leave the media out of it and Herbstreit and all the other reporters opinions matter nothing.

The College football playoffs is now a 4 team format but something needs to be set in stone to prevent two teams from the same conference competing in a 4 team playoff.

The conference champions from the power 5 conferences and the independent teams are eligible to appear in the final 4. If you do not win your conference championship then you are not eligible for the final 4.

If it was 8. 5 conference champs plus best non P5 and 2 at large

#8 Washington @ 1 Bama
#5 OSU @ 4 OU

#6 UGA @ 3 Notre Dame
#7 UCF @ 2 Clemson

Alabama
Clemson
Georgia
Oklahoma

That’s the top 4 teams in the country right now. LSU would be up there but they got fricked by the refs at least 3 times against A&M.

Saying that to screw OU by hopefully peeling off OU votes and opening the door for Oh St. He is slightly less biased than Danielson.

In the name of fairness, Oklahoma should go as the 4th seed

In the name of my own amusement, Georgia and Bama should both go and rematch

The B1G would have a conniption fit if they got left out while the SEC got 2 in (they are gonna whine if OU gets in over Ohio St)....I'd love to see it personally.

This. I think it is Kirk's and ESPN's attempt to start the discussion for an 8 team playoff with this format

Going to an 8 team format will not solve anything. You will still have the discussion of teams feeling ripped off not making it into that number 8 spot.
