Maybe he really means the holidays? You know like thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years? The three that come one after another so people tend to lump them together.

It was the festival for winter solstice long before it was Christmas. The Romans moved the birth of christ to December because there was a big pagan festival then already. It made it easier for folks to assimilate to a new religion if their holidays weren't jacked up

Is it? I made it a few years ago and besides separating the eggs, it didn’t take too long.
I made it a few months in advance of Christmas, and the booze had smoothed out almost entirely.
