it becomes accepted for judges to disregard the law

Uh... Isn't it obvious that this is happening already today?

It’s not improper to say that we shouldn’t put judges into political camps.

I don’t understand how so many people ITT seem to disagree with that. Are there activist judges? Of course, but they are rare in reality and get attention when such instances occur.

But the overwhelming majority of the federal judiciary does not fall into the camp, and therefore it harms the institution as a whole to continue treating the bench as if it adheres to political whims like the other branches.

Only when the outcome of the case is one in which you disagree.

Hot take: most people are too uneducated in the law to offer a respectable opinion on a judicial decision anyway. Cue the elitist liberal ad homs, but I never see anyone explain how said judge completely disregarded the law. He or she ruled in a way in which you disagree, but that doesn't mean they disregarded the law. They even write words down on paper to explain what law they applied and how they did it.

So Thomas was just stroking his ego? I like how you didn't quote that part, it tells me you're serious.

I quoted the post I replied to?

When speaking about nationwide injunctions coming from the Ninth? I don't know if he was stroking his ego or not. I think it's clear he was trying to tell them to reign it in.

You can disagree with the nationwide injunction, but I don't know if you can say it's not rooted in precedent and legal principles.

The ability of district court judges to levy injunctions outside of their circuit is a travesty

And you would be a fool to believe that the BHO administration wouldn't do whatever it took, used whatever information it had, to keep one of the keystones in a socialist government on the law books. Checks and balances be dammed.

The USA has THREE co-equal branches of government. The Orange Buffoon clearly wishes that it were otherwise, but he is head of only ONE of those branches. Roberts is head of another.

If Trump criticizes a member of Roberts’ branch, Roberts has every right to (politely) tell Trump to get fricked.

Let's not forget RBG threatening to leave the country if Trump was elected.

How'd that turn out?

I'm not sure what they have on him, if it only some kind of irregularity or illegality surrounding his adoptions or something bigger.

But he is compromised.
What a brain-dead, stupid farking comment.

frick Roberts.

His effort to keep the Court from being political resulted in one of the most politically driven decisions since Roe v. Wade.

The left really overplayed their hand vilifying Bush and his ilk as racist ultra-right wing ideologues. They were controlled opposition for the left’s movement to create a new socialist America. Now they have actual opposition.

Sometimes perception is more important than reality and a noble lie is better for everyone. Take the Dark Knight for example. Batman takes the fall for Harvey Dent/Two Face's murders. Harvey was the paragon of Justice in Gotham, and in a place where the state's ability to carry out justice was in doubt, the knowledge of what Dent had become could have disillusioned everyone and led to even more lawlessness. Relating that back to the judiciary, what happens if the image of impartiality is completely destroyed?

Your right, sure wish the President would just focus on cogent policy and supporting statements/facts, to the benefit of all the American people.
