She may be a decent actor, but she was shite in batman. Could be the writing's fault.

My apologies fellas. I don't venture this board often so i am unaware of the revere, or lack of revere, this movie has (honestly). Is this movie really thought of highly? Has this been discussed ad nauseum? I accept the downvotes.

Wat?

Do you mean "reverence?"

And, yes, it's widely considered by many on this board and by critics as a wonderful movie, bordering on modern classic.

The funniest part of your rant is that you're "surprised" this movie is widely acclaimed on this board, when this movie has been widely acclaimed on basically every other medium/platform since it came out over 10 years ago

You can not like any movie you want, but to be "surprised" that others like a movie that is widely acclaimed is whats giving away your troll attempt

I still like X1, but 2 and 3 were very meh. Superman definitely brought some legitimization to the genre, but Superman 3 probably ruined most of that.

Dude, i don't follow entertainment magazines or blogs extensively. I know it's well received, but had no idea the acclaim it gets, to the point that any criticism is met pretty harshly.

I'm not surprised others like it. I'm surprised at how the idea of criticizing the movie is approached as being unheard of on here. I would think my point by point reasoning of the shitty writing would have proved i wasn't trolling.

And FWIW, i'm not saying you can't like the movie. I'm saying it was pretty shittily put together, and i invite debate over my OP points.

Pump the brakes.

X-Men was so campy it could be an RV. (But it was fun)

X2 was eh and began the full on wankfest of Wolverine (in cinema) while continuing the plotline and jokes that it is not all about him.

Spider-Man 2 was the first legit attempt that superhero movies could mix drama/action/comedy in a serious way. (Immediately killed by Sony with venom.)

Batman Begins once again set the table and the Dark Knight delivered on what the genre can be.

It's an average film. Batman Begins is better. TDKR is worse by a good margin.

That said, The Prestige if a near perfect film.

I agree.

Batman Begins and The Prestige will forever put Nolan in tGOAT tier.

With that said the last 45 minutes of TDK through the entirety of TDKR was terrible story telling and editing. The plot points were downright stupid.

I can really like some of Nolan’s work and recognize his crap stains at the same time.

Critics and movie historians credit the film for making the comic book movie a genre to be taken seriously as an art form.

That award goes to Batman Begins

Batman Begins, while a great film in its own right, was barely noticed when it was released in 2005. It struggled to reach $200 million domestically. The Dark Knight was a cultural phenomenon and easily the #1 most talked about movie of 2008.

Well, I mean, it wasn’t erased from existence. Of course people will still speak of it on occasion.

You think MCU films are held in high regard, try TDK being a better film than Seven Samurai. Yeah, that happened.

TDK was still a little more fresh at the time. Id be willing to bet that Infinity War would be up there ahead of a lot of brilliant films.

And I would imagine, %50 of the people on here havent even seen Seven Samurai, so that has something to do with it.

There is no reason to keep reading past this. It is at the core of his character and one of the reasons why he's a hero.

Na, highly doubt it.

Yeah but the formula took that into account. I worked hard on that formula.
