There is no reason to keep reading past this. It is at the core of his character and one of the reasons why he's a hero.

No it's not. The no-kill thing came around in the 50s when comic book publishers were sanitizing titles to stay on the good side of the government/Comics Code Authority. Batman even used firearms in his early days.

And Batman was introduced in 1939. So his no-kill rule has been part of his character longer than it hasn't.

First 2/3 of the film is a very good knock off of a costumed version of Heat. Hell even Nolan, whom I admire as a filmmaker, has said that.

Last 25 minutes of the film are garbage, bloated, stupid, and not compelling.

The boat scene is a terrible plot device.

The film should have ended with The Joker driving off in the back of the cop car, wind in his hair. The rest of just bad.

You could tell they really didn't know how to wrap it up.

So if Box Office Matters....

Infinity War was no where near as critically acclaimed as The Dark Knight was upon release. The Dark Knight was a legit Oscar contender and easily came the closest of any comic book film to being nominated for Best Picture. Because it did not get nominated is the reason why the Academy nominates 5-10 films for the big prize every single year now.

Yeah...and I don't think he was so much sobbing as he was brooding.

Maggie is a good actress.

Know how I know that?

Look at her ta-tas.

No way she slept her way to the top. When she was 30, nude, she looked like an old dog who had 10 pups suckling at her teets all day.

That’s a good point. She has the face of a shihtzu so she had to earn those roles.

Tim Burton was let go from the franchise precisely because he made his Batman universe too dark and unfriendly for children - and that includes killing people in cold blood.

Christopher Nolan's Batman never straight up murdered someone in cold blood. Ra's Al Ghul was a victim of his own actions and Harvey Dent's death was a direct result of Batman choosing one person over the other (namely Gordon's innocent pre-teen son).

What’s crazy to me is how underrated Begins is.

THAT’S the good movie of the 3. Begins is a great all around film. It’s well cast, acted, and paced. I prefer Begins’ “comic book” Gotham to the other two more “lifelike” ones as well. It had an arc and it ended when it should have.

Dark Knight is average. It’s good for the first 2/3 and a disjointed mess during the final 1/3. It’s like they had a good movie in the can and then some talentless coke fiend took over and tacked on a half hour of unnecessary schlop with no purpose. It has never ending fanboy love due to Ledger’s performance and death. His death really has a lot to do with the mystique and it wouldn’t be well regarded without that. It’s the Kurt Cobain effect.

Rises is just awful. I’m pretty sure Nolan is openly embarrassed of it.

There’s nothing stranger than the way so many people have convinced themselves that Batman Begins is a masterpiece and The Dark Knight Rises is garbage.

It has been a decade and TDK is pretty clearly still considered the GOAT superhero movie. While some internet film savants may sneer whenever TDK is mentioned among the all time greats and on people’s personal lists of their favorite movies, it’s pretty much the only superhero movie that is ever even mentioned. People can pretend it’s some forgotten movie whose only effect on the genre was destroying the DCEU before it got started, but they would be wrong.

You all need to drop all this Rachel Dawes hate.

Droopy did an admiral job with that performance.

ACT 1

An OP written to entice a bunch of people to go overboard in defending the movie. (Troll)

When no one really bites on the troll according to OPs pre conceived notion of what would occur he doubles down and sticks to script.

ACT II

So, he posts his pre planned follow up novel acting as if the board was in an uproar about his opinion. His follow up novel about being surprised about the overwhelming outrage doesn’t work because nobody showed any level of outrage. But he had his second act planned and performed it according to script.

Summary- This particular 2 act troll performance was rather weak and left a lot to be desired by this particular critic. The BugAC character arc was poorly developed throughout the thread and the troll itself was a mishmash hodgepodge of “look at me” and “try hard” on a random Wednesday morning.
