I never have bought much Hornady ammo, but I bought some of the premium stuff for a new rifle. It shoots really great, but it was damn expensive.

I hunt with a man who had the 7-08 ammo snap on his grandson when a buck stepped out.
Overheard a man in a restaurant with same story. I had to ask him the brand. Hornady 7-08.

Called them and they said send it back, they’d check it out and if it was their problem they would send me two boxes for my trouble. I told him I wanted a refund. Wtf am I gonna do with two boxes of shite ammo? Need to order some dies so I can reload for it

Have you heard the same story about any other caliber?
What I tried was for 6.5 cm

Years back my cousin had some hornady 7 Rem Mag that wouldn't fire. I witnessed it myself. I've never had trouble with their ammo though.

The Hornady 143 ELD-X is the perfect ammo for my 6.5 Creedmoor Bergara B14 HMR.

I've never had an issue with them not going off but I have had some really shitty terminal performance from hornady. Levevolution, interlock, sst and xtp have all done bad for me. I just dont buy any hornady anymore.

I've always really liked Federal rifle ammo, whilst despising Federal shotgun ammo go figure.

Back story, little Infidel is shooting a borrowed youth rifle came with a box of sst. I have never like Hornady, but figured "frick it". Well, he shot a doe the other day that I thought he hit. Nothing. Not a hair of drop of blood. I figured maybe he missed. He later shot another and high shouldered it like he should. DRT. I thought. Still had to cut its damn throat. DO NOT LIKE. So I go buy these whitetails.

frick Hornady.

Anyway. Kids getting a rifle for xmas so my might as well go ahead and order some dies.

My 300blk loves Hornady VMax. 3 shots 3 dead deer. None running more than 50 yards

Went to sight in my rifle yesterday with a brand new box of Hornady 6.8 SPC 120 grain straight off the shelf at academy. First three rounds and not one went off. Check the primer all had dents through the shite in the garbage

I shoot nothing but Hornady superperformance 150gr SST's in both my Tikka T3 and Savage model 99 (both .308 WCF). Every deer shot with them is dead. Have never had any issue and terminal ballistics were very good. They haven't always gone down but they don't go far and they all left a blood trail. Last year went after Nilgai swapped to Hornady superperformance 165gr GMX's specifically for that hunt. Everybody was telling me to be ready because they are tough to put down. I was told I would need follow up shots, etc. After stalking for two days shot a bull at about 100 yards. He dropped when hit. Never got back up. Bullet went completely through him. After field dressing he weighed 380 lb. I can only tell you what my experience has been and I have never experienced any failures to fire or issues with terminal ballistics. From the bench the 150gr SST's shoot 1" groups from my Tikka.

Ive shot some of their ammo. It all went bang, but was very inconsistent.

My experience has been like kengel2’s.

That said I’m shooting the 143’s like the other guys in my B-14 Ridge lights out. We’ll see how it performs in a day or two.

I reload with Hornady eld-x in my 6.5. Only shot one with it and it didn't go far.
