LSU sitting on the one-yard line as a 13-point favorite is the gambling crime of the centu

"In other words, he spat in the face of LSU -13 bettors, then beat the crap out of them, kicked them while they were down. "

I voted no on fantasy football betting

What really matters is the style points. We’ll likely fall in the CFP polls now bc of an unimpressive 1 score win against a 2-7 team, when it could have been 31-17 not really seems close type game

Who gives a frick. College football does not exist for gamblers.
By definition gambling is taking a risk on the unknowns. This is part of the unknowns. Brossette owed gamblers nothing. He did the right thing. Orgeron proceeding to call plays instead of just taking the knee was the weomg thing.

Well besides the gambling angle, it was dumb to do what Brossette did. In that situation, you go for the score and the points. The chances are much better for a fumble and a scoop and score to tie it up than answering the LSU td with a quick td, and then converting an onside kick.
I really don't follow Brossette's logic in that decision other than he was trying to get cute as though LSU had a 3 score lead on them or something.

Then we should have continued to score throughout the game and not sit on a lead going 3 and out every fricking time.

We'll likely fall, but not because Brossette took a dive.
Anyone paying attention on the committee knows the win was unimpressive, with or without the TD.

frick a bettor. Todd Gurley did the same thing a few weeks ago and it's the right call.

Wrong.
You go down and then take a knee to run out the clock.
The statistics are that they had a higher win % chance if we scored. They get the ball back then. What if they ran back the kickoff and got the onside kick and scored again? Granted it was very unlikely but that was the ONLY chance they had.
You go down, take a knee to run the clock out, game over.

That’s why it’s called “gambling” and not “here’s free money”.

It's simple. LSU made a first down and Arkansas had no time outs. All LSU had to do was kneel and Arkansas had no shot to win.
If he scores, conceivably Arkansas could have scored, kicked an onside kick, recovers and scored again to tie it up. Yes, it's very unlikely. But possible. Brossette 100% did the correct thing to assure a win. I can only assume the coaches wanted a TD for a wider margin of victory for the polls.

Thanks for clearing that up for me

Serves the degenerates right. LSU owes gamblers nothing.

Ok, so what if he "does the right thing" and falls to the ground to play keep away, and then they run a play (like they exactly did), and he fumbles for the scoop and score to tie it up?
That's my point. We both know it didn't happen. But without the benefit of having hindsight and arguing what the best strategy to do is, it doesn't make sense in that situation. Especially if you're not going to kneel the very next snap in the victory formation.

No, you are wrong. THere is absolutely no way to lose if LSU holds the ball for the rest of the game. But if he had scored and we had given the ball back there was a very slight chance they could have scored quickly and then gotten an onside kick in the remaining time. As much as I wanted to have a larger margin of victory, he did the safest thing.

Brosette made the right call up 1, but not up 7.
He should’ve scored the TD.
He should’ve scored the TD.

I have no clue about the miscommunication after the first down and why they didn't kneel. I'm sure he was just thinking of running time off the clock.
