I drive a 97 Toyota Land Cruiser (80 series). After the 100 Series Land Cruiser, Toyota turned a masculine off-road vehicle into a luxury fluff ball that looks like a station wagon (in its current form).

Land Rover did the same with the Discovery to LR3 to now a mini crossover looking Discovery.

The new Toyota Camry with the black plastic front ends are garbage. The black plastic looks so cheap and ghetto in real life.

They tried so hard to mirror their luxury Lexus counterpart and failed miserably:

GTO is a great one.

I was so excited when I heard such an iconic car was coming back and actually had a solid engine.

But they came out with car that looks like a dodge neon fricked a 90's acura and the offspring sold meth.

Same here. It was the first car I thought of when I read the post. It was a huge disappointment to the GTO followers.

Why are you replicating a thread we had a month ago with these exact car examples in the topic?

We had a green '69 Dodge Charger in the 70s that turned heads. How do you go from the General Lee to this?

What we got later in the 80s was not only ugly but horrible quality and lacked balls.

Well I don't remember that thread and I'm enjoying this one.

That's a good one, the Gen4 4Runner looks pretty ugly but I believe was the only 4Runner ever available with a V8. I like the Gen 5's though. Gen 2s are my favorites.

Funny you say that because I would have said

1981 Camaro

to the 1982 Camaro

This has got to be the all time worst.

ETA: I've owned both of these trucks and one is still in my garage. Guess which one.

I have no idea how it’s performed sales wise, but I loved the old truck based Pathfinders. Now it’s another crossover. I wish they would switch back to compete with the 4Runner

THIS.

In 2013, I hydroplaned and totaled my Xterra. Needed a replacement. Xterras were no longer being made, and the Pathfinders had gone over to the crossover look. My 13 year old daughter found me a 2011 truck-style Pathfinder that had never sold on the lot at a dealership nearby-- got a great deal on it, loved it, still drive it today.

way better than THIS:

Cherokee is at the top of that list. The old body style was pretty timeless.

Ford Bronco is also up there... The old style was fantastic. (1978)

Several years later they ended up with this (1993)

Talk about ripping out the heart and soul of a classic.
