They finally retired Verne and now it's time to put Gary out to pasture.

I swear you hit it right on the head. The whole time they were waiting and anticipating georgia coming back and not acknowledging the good job lsu was doing. They never mentioned how good lsu defense was playing and how they made georgia get away from their gameplan.

Forget the "bias" talk for a second, every fan base ultimately thinks the announcers favor the other team. Instead, focus on the actual mistakes and issues he had yesterday:
"Tony" Carter plays fullback for us now
After Chase's first catch, Danielson spends 30 seconds on how well he's played today, "3 catches already". He obviously got Marshall and Chase mixed up, confusing the 2 freshman
On the KO fumble recovery, he kept talking about if "Atkins was out of bounds when he recovered the ball". Clearly he wasn't, one of the coverage guys was while he was fighting for the ball. But I don't think Gary actually knew who Atkins was, just got fed the name via a spotter
Those are just some of the ones that jump out to me. Just like Verne, he's gotten to the point where he simply can't keep up and call the game in real time speed, and it's time for him to go

Gary and Verne legitimately deserve every single ounce of hate they get from LSU fans. Now that Verne is gone, we still notice every tiny little slight that Gary says because we’re used to the shite from those two. Honestly, frick them both and thank god Verne is out. They’re Bama/LSU commentating was beyond unprofessional for what their job is SUPPOSED to be, not what they or CBS decide it is.
Gary doesn’t really annoy me much anymore, but I still dislike him and have muscle memory of his past calls that I can’t help.

Because the sorry son of a bitch is always talking the other team up. You can tell he is not a fan of LSU And makes it obvious by talking good about the other team 85% of the time.

I’m with you. I never get upset if analyst pick against LSU but Gary yesterday was very biased to UGA. I’ve never felt that way with him before yesterday not sure what his deal was.

His broadcast yesterday was abhorrent. His bias towards UGA was inflected in nearly every single play. By the end, his tears were pouring out into his microphone with his whiny little inflection of his displeasure that LSU won.
I wish the students would yell STTD Gary! during all CBS broadcasts!
CBS announcing calls and plays that didn’t happen was nothing more than fake news. It was atrocious until we won. Then it was hahahaha CBS y’all suck!

Why would lots of UGA fans on Bourbon be unexpected? UGA travels well, especially when they are doing well. New Orleans is a big tourist attraction and more fun for visiting fans than Baton Rouge. If you are coming from far off, why not take in New Orleans before the game? Generally there are more likely to be out of town fans on Bourbon when LSU is playing at home. LSU fans are not as likely to go to Bourbon Street in droves before a game in Baton Rouge. Most New Orleanian LSU fans don’t hang out on Bourbon much at all, and most other LSU fans aren’t going to travel to New Orleans and back to Baton Rouge just before a game.

With that said, I predicted an LSU win 23-17 earlier this week when i found out some inside info on a couple players. Thought UGA was primed to get a loss as well based on comments Smart made during the coaches call last week - he was underestimating the physical games LSU had already played that hardened than. I felt like if The dbs held their own, and LSU loaded the box, they had them. UGA has not been tested and they got all they wanted and failed miserably. Smart was so bent on throwing the ball he gave Holyfield only 7 carries. If he would have just handed him the ball the entire game, they win by wearing out LSU dline. That was it.

Jesus he fricking melted down, as in 3 mile island melt, when coach O went for it on 4th down on the georgia side of the 50. I thought he was going to stroke the frick out. I felt he was gonna call ncaa, sec, department of justice and whoever he could call to get coach O fired for this insaneness

Immediately jumping to “well Georgia can STILL make the playoffs if they beat an undefeated Alabama in the SECCG” as soon as the game ended without ever mentioning LSU’s path or likelihood of going there...after we beat them by 20 points...?
Constantly referring to “Kirby” and “Mel” on a first name basis like he was going to have a beer with them after the game and gushing about them while the score was 19-3 LSU
Making generally shitty/negative comments about us pretty consistently throughout the game and praising the entire UGA staff while we were up 2+ scores and they looked like shite
