What were your top 3 criteria that you went to to fork this list?

I’d put Elway on Jim Kelly’s level.
Jim "Cancers Worst Nightmare" Kelly
228.3 yards/game----5.0 td pct----3.7 int%-----60.1 comp ---84.4 passer rating
John Elway
234.6 yards/game-----4.1td%----3.1int%-----56.9 comp %----79.9 rating

That’s the best I can do
My point is the only “great” peer that was similar to Elway in SBs, stats is Kelly and NO ONE puts Kelly in the top 5 even though Kelly has better stats and was a direct peer.
It’s a mystery

Yes. Since you mentioned him, I’d put Elway on Jim Kelly’s level.

9. Bobby Layne
How TF did Bobby frickING Layne ascend all the way to top 10 above Peyton Manning, Sammy Baugh, Steve Young, etc? Who's the Bobby Layne fan round here?

Would he be as great without the defenses the Patriots have had? Or as successful?
You Louisiana honks do know the 2011 Pats team that was a Wes Welker drop from winning the SB statistically had the second worst defense in NFL history to that point, right?
The defense also got torched for 540 yards in SB 52, right?
Pats fans will tell you the only really good defense the team has had since 2004 was 2014, with Revis, C. Jones, Hightower, Collins, and McCourty all in their prime.
2001 D was scrappy but not like the Ravens. 2003 was good, 2004 was great.
2007 was OK, but they were old and it caught up with them at seasons end.
2009-2013 just sucked.
2016 was scrappy, 2017 was terrible.

Unfortunately, we will never know the answer to the original question. I like Brees and the Saints. Not my favorite team though. How the Patriots lost to the Giants, twice is the biggest mystery of all. Especially the undefeated regular season. This years Patriots defense is probably the worst but hey, they have Tom Brady. Just like the Saints have Brees, they will always be in games because of that.

it's not like putting Joe Montana at 1 is a hugely controversial pick. He's widely considered either the GOAT or in that highest tier.
Probably the greatest quarterback to execute the West Coast Offense, incredibly accurate within the context of that particular era, generally always elevated his game when it mattered most, deceptively athletic in terms of scrambling and running the ball, submitted some of the greatest playoff performances of all-time IN ADDITION to some of the greatest regular season performances, Montana Magic simply unstoppable

Pretty solid list overall. My only gripes would be:
Tom Brady #1...GOAT
Otto Graham...Needs to be higher IMO. Most underrated QB of all time. Took the Browns to 10...yes 10...strait NFL championships. Think about that.
Noteable ommisons up for debate:
Troy Aikman
Ben Roethlisberger
Aaron Rogers
Kurt Warner
Steve McNair

What the frick would Brady and Pats fans do with a defense for multiple years in a row ranked in the 30s like Brees and the saints had?

Played basically 7 1/2 years.
22,700 passing yards
153 TDs
57.0 cmp rate.
He was good but not sure how you justify him at #4.
Captain Comeback, rocket arm, exceptionally athletic, integral in elevating the Cowboys to the America's Team moniker, world champion, transcendent quarterback, you know he led the league in passer rating 4x during the Dead Ball Era of the 1970s? He probably submitted his greatest statistical season his final season in the league at age 37

Any list that has Elway above Marino can't be taken seriously.

No Moneymaker??

Imagine if Kurt Warner would have played his entire career in the NFL? His stats are already amazing considering, but just imagine he had another 5-8 years in the NFL.

Sure, but you have Elway in the TOP 5. You would think there would be SOME major stat to hint at that greatness considering all his great peers are WELL above him. He’s “literally” statistically insignificant relative to his peers.
Elway's reputation was based off his ability to execute comebacks for the Broncos and his overall talent which was unanimously considered transcendent when he entered the league out of Stanford, now the stats certainly didn't reflect his talent as Marino and Montana's were frankly better Jim Kelly too, hell in 1989 the Broncos advanced to Super Bowl XXIV IN SPITE OF Elway, dude was very average to mediocre statistically that season yet they won all the games they did

I would move Tarkenton, Bradshaw and Manning way up.

I honestly believe New Orleans would have more than 1 Super Bowl with Brady/Peyton & I don't think Belichick/Brees would have 5.
You’re obviously either an idiot or incredibly biased. Either way your list is shite
